A New Year

922 Words
As the morning sun rises, Francis finds himself sitting in his office carefully reviewing all the new student applications. Suddenly, his door is forcefully blown open and he is startled. 'What are you doing here?!' Samuels shouts. Confused, Francis replies, 'Nothing. Why are you here?' Samuels reminds him that the new school year is starting, as if Francis needed the reminder. 'Yes, I am aware,' Francis calmly responds. 'Are you all going to repeat this again?' Ivory asks sternly while looking at them. Samuel confidently declares, 'Well, I have to beat the old man.' Francis, being firm, interjects, 'You have never won. You're just a loudmouth. What did you call me, you disrespectful fool? I will not stand for this.' Samuel lunges at Francis, attempting to grab him by the collar, but Francis skillfully catches his fist and effortlessly throws Samuel across the room. 'Learn your place and stay down, you fool,' Francis asserts. 'Let's go meet our students, Samuels,' he calmly says to him. Samuel, filled with anger and resentment, looks at Francis with a deadly gaze before grudgingly following him. 'Ha! Next time, you won't be so lucky,' Samuel mutters. 'It wasn't luck. You're simply slow,' Francis responds confidently. Meanwhile, as the students gather, a young man named Alucard, only 16 years old and new to the school, notices a guy sitting beneath a tree in the courtyard. Intrigued by this lone figure who seems uninterested in meeting new people, Alucard approaches him and introduces himself. 'Hello, my name is Alucard,' he kindly says. The guy looks at him and replies, 'Hello, Alucard. My name is Solomon, and I'm trying to study, so please leave me be.' Suddenly, the main doors swing open, and the students are surprised to see their teachers and the headmaster staring at them. They have heard great things about this group – honor, family, justice – things they stand for. Francis speaks in a stern voice, commanding their attention. 'Forget everything you have heard about us.' The following day, all the students gather. Ivory is peacefully reading her book when Alucard notices her. His heart starts racing, unfamiliar with this feeling. He desires to know her, but for the first time in his life, he is unsure of what to say or do, causing him to simply stare. Suddenly, she notices him and he shyly hides behind a tree, feeling completely flustered. Out of the blue, Samuel approaches and asks, 'Who are you?' Alucard replies, 'I am Alucard.' Samuel responds with a condescending tone, 'Why do you look scared? Well, honestly, you should be, you little punk. You won't last a day. I don't understand why that old man chose you out of all people.' Alucard stops worrying about who the girl was and confidently confronts Samuel. 'I respect you as our teacher, but you don't know anything about me. You're an i***t. I will prove you wrong.' Impressed, Samuel acknowledges, 'Wow, kid, you've got guts. I'll give you that. So, let me share a secret with you: in this life, nothing is more important than money. Learn your place, shut up, and accept that you will never achieve anything significant.' Alucard's hands tremble as he speaks firmly, his eyes piercing with determination. 'f**k you, you bastard. You don't know. I will kick your ass if we fight.' Samuel sees it as a challenge and replies, 'Sounds like a challenge. You're on. You and me at the arena tonight. I will make an example out of you. 'Samuel walks away filled with intense anger as all of the students overhear. Suddenly, Alucard hears a voice saying 'You i***t! Where did that come from? Shut up, I'm using telepathy.' It's Solomon. 'Come to my dorm room, we need to talk.' Meanwhile, Francis is in his office when Freya walks in. She politely asks, 'What are you doing, sir?' He responds, 'I'm working on a test for the students.' 'We have a problem,' Francis says. 'Samuel is going to be fighting Alucard tonight in the arena. I know it's going to be interesting.' Freya questions, 'You really think this is a good idea? You know the rules.' Francis confidently replies, 'Yes, I do. I wrote them. There's always an exception.' In the dorm, Alucard approaches room 266, wondering why Solomon wants to see him. Just as Alucard is about to knock, the door swings open forcefully. 'Hello, is anyone in there?' Alucard walks in and is taken aback by the sight of countless books scattered everywhere. He curiously asks, 'What is all this?' Alucard sees Solomon meditating and asks, still perplexed by the books, 'Is this light reading?' Standing up, Solomon replies, 'It's studying our past and history. If we forget the past, we doom the future. You're in trouble if you lose the fight against Samuel.' Alucard confidently states, 'No, I will win. I'm not going to let that arrogant person get the better of me.' Solomon expresses concern, 'Are you stupid? We're here to train. You've heard all the stories, do you really think he's human?' Alucard seems confused and responds, 'What do you mean?' Solomon explains, 'Well, Alucard, I've dedicated my life to fighting monsters. I think he's a demon, but I also don't think you're human. So, what are you?' Alucard truthfully admits, 'I don't know what you're talking about.' Solomon ominously concludes, 'We will soon find out what you truly are.' Filled with anger, Alucard walks away muttering, 'You brat, thinking you know who I am. I will show all of you.'
