Dylan loved Jessica very much, but Rosie was back in his life, and Rosie was very beautiful and, most importantly, slim and simple—the way he would have preferred Jessica to be. So, he would be able to carry her.
Dylan used to be able to lift Jessica up to his chest and make love to her while standing in their bedroom. However, Jessica was now too heavy for him to carry, and they couldn't do all the fun, adventurous things they used to do together as a couple. Their s****l relationship as husband and wife had diminished and become dull.
Jessica was also mostly preoccupied with taking care of their two kids, and Dylan didn't like how their fun moments had died down.
He found himself criticizing Jessica every day about her weight, but Jessica usually smiled through it, not realizing he was serious. No matter what he did to annoy her, she would only smile and never got upset with him. He felt frustrated because he couldn't cheat on her or be seen with another woman without risking his reputation and his company's image.
Jessica's father was also a billionaire and a very influential man in their state. Dylan knew he couldn't just cheat on Jessica and have the wild pleasure he desired. But with Rosie back in the country, they had reunited.
Dylan visited Rosie at her home, and she told him she was still single. She even encouraged him to divorce Jessica so they could be together again.
In Rosie's words, "Dylan, you're not the first man to divorce his wife, and you won't be the last. So please divorce that woman you have at home so we can marry, as you promised to marry me when I was 16."
Dylan remembered being intimate with Rosie at her home when she talked about divorcing Jessica. He actually lifted Rosie up, crossing her slender legs around his waist in the s*x style he loved most.
Dylan agreed to divorce Jessica so he wouldn't feel guilty about cheating on her. Rosie even helped him get the divorce papers ready. He couldn't believe he was divorcing Jessica. He hadn't gone to the marriage bureau or spoken to his lawyer about it. He had only given Rosie his name, and Jessica's full names, and he hadn't even read the divorce papers Rosie prepared.
Dylan still loved Jessica for all she had done for him, and part of him didn't want to divorce her. She was his wife and the mother of his two kids. Jessica had never done anything wrong to him, aside from gaining weight. She truly loved him and supported him in becoming the billionaire he was today.
Dylan stepped out of the guest room where he had slept the previous night and entered the living room. He saw his two kids playing and running around by that early hour of the day.
It was already after 8 a.m., and Dylan wondered what Jessica was still doing upstairs in their bedroom instead of preparing their two kids for school and taking them there.
"Daddy! Daddy!" Caleb and Nina both rushed to hug his legs when they saw him step out from the guest room corridor into the living room.
Dylan picked up Caleb first with his right arm and then Nina with his left arm, asking them, "No school today?"
Nina looked so much like Jessica with her pretty face and cute chubby cheeks, while Caleb resembled Dylan with his dark skin and short black hair.
Caleb shook his head and replied, "I don't know, Dad."
"Okay, wait here. Let me find out from your mommy. And don't play rough games with your sister, okay? I'll be back," Dylan said as he proceeded to climb the living room stairs. He knew he had fired their last maid and mandated Jessica to do all the house chores and take care of their kids, as she couldn't just sit at home all day, leaving all the work to the maid.
Dylan went upstairs and walked into the bedroom, seeing Jessica crying out on the bed in her sleep, calling his name loudly.
Dylan didn't know when he rushed to Jessica, scooping her up in his arms and trying to wake her from her dream. "Jessica, it's me, Dylan. Wake up, I'm here now."
Dylan shook Jessica gently to wake her as she kept calling his name and crying, "Dylan, please don't send me away. I'm sorry, Dylan. Dylan, please."
"I'm here, babe. I won't send you away. Wake up now, Jessica. I'm here," Dylan said, unsure if it was one of Jessica's tricks to prevent him from divorcing her. He had not seen her in that state before, and it worried him as he finally woke her up.
Jessica's forehead was covered in sweat, and her face was tear-streaked from crying in her dream. She heard Dylan's deep voice close to her ear, and her eyes finally fluttered opened, meeting his handsome face and sharp blue eyes.
"Dylan," Jessica slowly called her husband's name to be sure it was really him. She stretched her hand to touch his chin and jawline to confirm he was truly there with her and not a dream.
Jessica caressed Dylan's jaw and blushed as she met his strong gaze. She couldn't believe he was there with her in their bedroom, remembering he had left her to sleep alone the previous night.
Dylan saw that Jessica was finally awake and met her unique blue eyes. He carefully sat her up on the bed, moved away, and stood up, staring at her coldly.
Dylan raked his short black hair in frustration as he met Jessica's gaze.
She was embarrassed to realize she had cried all night and in her sleep because of the nightmare.
The dream felt so real. Jessica saw Dylan throw her things outside, but as she kept crying and calling his name, Dylan came to his senses and didn't send her away. He got confused about the strange woman in their home, and the woman angrily left after Dylan refused to send Jessica away.
Jessica knew she had to consult her pastor to pray against any strange woman trying to destroy her home and marriage. She looked at Dylan, who stood beside the bed, raking his hair and staring away.
His former gentle smile had turned strict again, and Dylan finally asked, "Aren't the kids going to school today?"
"The kids?" Jessica looked perplexed, having completely forgotten about them. She was still seated on the bed in her white nightgown. She used the hem of her nightgown to wipe her sweaty forehead and tears, sniffing as she asked, "Which kids?"
Jessica had completely forgotten about her two children and saw Dylan's expression harden as he asked, "Our kids, Jessica? Aren't they going to school today?"
"Oh! I forgot! They're already late," Jessica exclaimed, jumping off the bed and rushing out of the bedroom. She remembered she wasn't wearing a bra or panties and quickly returned to the wardrobe to put them on, not minding Dylan was watching.
Dylan stood beside the bed as Jessica hurriedly put on a jacket over her nightgown before finally exiting the bedroom. She rushed downstairs to the living room to meet her children, as their rooms were on the second side of the mansion first floor.
