"Good. We leave tomorrow morning. Prepare yourself." Alpha Evon patted my hair as though I were a pet, his touch making my skin crawl. I forced myself to remain still, to not react. Finally, he left the room, the door clicking shut behind him. The moment he was gone, I dropped the composed facade I had maintained.
