It was almost three in the morning when Carter woke up. Her eyes were wide, her body felt like stone. Her heart was pounding and sweat covered her body like a blanket. Her eyes scanned the room, her mind still half in her nightmare of dark woods and red-eyed wolves. Next to her, Lucas was fast asleep, snoring softly into his arm.
