Nick checked his watch as Ethan sat down at the table. “You’re late.” He pulled a manila envelope from his briefcase and handed it to his friend. “Give this to Sarah.” He’d let her take control last weekend, but this Saturday was his turn.
Monica, the waitress, hurried over. “Hi Ethan. Haven’t seen you around in a while.”
“I’ll have the burger, medium with salad on the side.” Ethan barely looked at the girl and she wasn’t happy about it.
“I’ll have the pepper steak, fries on the side and a refill.” He held out his almost empty glass of iced tea.
