Episode One: Unforseen Event.
UNFORSEEN EVENTS
The story starts with a little 15year old girl living with her parents, cousins, Aunty and a maid in a not so big home comprising of 5 bedrooms, two toilets plus one for guests and the workers with a bathroom in each rooms. This family consists of Father, Mother, Aunty due to some issues with the property claiming after the death of her husband, cousins (two young beautiful darkskinned girls), driver and a maid who is considered to be a second mother because she also took care of the children when they were young, they live in New York City, in the most prominent and Wealthy environment and are well-known in the society as, “The West Family”.
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnng!!!
“Huuuuuuuuuh”,……. groans a brownskinned girl as she wakes up in anger.
“Can't the day come at least an hour later”.
“No it can't Mel”,………says a cute white woman.
“But mom,……..I'm tired”……says Mel with the duvet on her face.
“You just woke up, that is why you feel that way, get into the bathroom and you will feel alright”
“No mom, just a little more sleep”
“No, my darling”,…………she insisted;
“If you sleep more, you will get late for school”.
Mel removed the duvet from her face and stares at her mom a little.
“Okay Mum”,……..she rises from bed walking to the bathroom with her eyes shut a little bit.
“Do quick Okay my darling”
“Okay Mum",………..she responds.

Five minutes Later, she comes out from her room fully dressed in a nice crop top and short skirt that looked like it was trying so hard to touch her knee but could not. She walks down the stairs and makes her way to the dining room.
She takes her seat and enjoys her favourite cereal “Tootie Fruities”.
“Good morning Mel”,………..says an handsome blackskinned tall man.
“Good morning Dad”
“Good morning dear”, says a white beautiful woman.
“Good morning Love”,…..he responded.
Mrs. Johnson (Mel's aunt) comes down with two brownskinned girls who are twins, they all greet each other and join in eating.
“Mel have you told them about the bully that has been disturbing you in school”?………….Rose one of Mel's cousins asks.
“What”!……..Mel's mother shouts.
“You have been bullied in school and you didn't tell us”?.
“Rose, why did you have to say it here”,…….Mel asks angrily.
“Why can't she”?,……….Mrs. West interrupts.
“After me and your aunt get back from work, we will come to your school, you will show us that bully and we will deal with that person…………severely, have I made myself clear”?
“Yes mum”

Five minutes later, they were already done.
“Let's go girls”,……….the driver says.
They all carried their backpacks ready for school and they headed for the car.
“Bye mum, bye Aunt”,……….they all chorus at once and entered the car as thier mum and aunt replied back.
On their way to school, they chatted alot, laughing as they talked. They are all in the same class, 10th grade and they all do good in their studies, Mel is always the first in the class, followed by some other people.
“Hey Mel, did you hear about the New Foreign exchange student that is coming to our school”?………Veronica asked.
“Exchange student”?,…….Mel asked in confusion.
“Yes”,……..Rose answered.
“Michael was taken to study in Canada and another student was brought here from over there”.
“Ooooooh, so that is what they call Foreign exchange student”.
They all burst into laughter at Mel's ignorance, even Mel.
“I heard he was handsome”, Veronica intruded.
“How did you know”,………Rose asked.
“I don't know, I guess we just connected”.
They all burst into laughter once more.

Ten minutes later, they arrive at school after all the chatting and laughing.
They all come down and wave to the driver as he waves and goes back to carry their mum and aunt to work. Mel's father (Mr. Andrew White) is a retired Commando in the armed forces so he just stays at home and does nothing but listens to the news, reads newspapers and sleeps all day.The Cute Threesome walk beautifully into the school and make their way to their class.

Their Morning classes were a little bit boring than usual, all the students' eyes were fixed on the new foreign exchange student (Cole Camble), he is a cute lightskinned boy who is 6ft 4 inched in height. He is intelligent and cool guy, all the girls always keep letters in his table expecting letters but he always turn them down.
“Riiiiiiiiiinnnnng”,…...sounds the school bell. The cute threesome like usual, head to the cafeteria to have lunch.
A pen falls from Mel's bag and she bends down to pick it up, Rose and Veronica sights Colenot far from them and decide to be match makers for the two.
“Mel”,…….Rose calls.
“Yeah”?
“Can you sing the chariot song with your eyes close”?.
“What”?
“Yh”,……. Veronica adds.
“If you do, you can have our desert for the end of the week”.
“Okay”?.
She closed her eyes in determination and sings with Melody that drives the heart.

She opens her eyes and see a lightskinned face, it was Cole's face.
She searched for her girls with the corner of her eyes bit doesn't find them. She looks back at Cole with a little nervousness.
“Hi, you sing well,……….. I like your voice; what's your name”?
“It's……….. it's…………it's Mellene West….she said shyly and nervously.
“My friends call me Mel”.
“Mel, such a beautiful name”.
She smiled shyly and said,
“Thanks”.
“I'm Cole by the way, nice to meet you, can we be friends”?.
“Yyyyyyy………Yeah……….sure, why not?.
“Can I have your number”?
“Sure”. She gives him her number as she smiles shyly.
“Would you like to grab a cup of coffee at the new coffee shop, like a date”?. He said with hope.
She froze a little and then responded.
“Yeah”. It felt like she wanted to burst with happiness.
“Saturday evening”?
“Sure”.
“8pm”?
“Yeah”.
“See ya”,……..he said while waving at her heading to the cafeteria.
“See ya”.
As soon as he left, she burst into happiness and joy and headed to class not eating anything.

Classes went by so fast and for the first time, she didn't pay attention in class, she was thinking of her date with Cole the coolest kid in school.
“Riiiiiiiinnng”. The bell sounds and all the students head for home, the girls wait for their driver but no one came so they decided to walk home chatting.
Mel was not included in the discussion as she was thinking of Cole. The two sisters (her cousins) look at her with confusion.
“Mel”……….Rose calls.
She didn't answer until tapped on the shoulder.
“What happened Mel”……. asking with curiosity.
“Cole asked me out and he also collect my number”…….she said while twirling as if she is Alice in Wonderland.
“Wooooow”,…..the girls shout in joy.
“Our plan worked well, if we hadn't done that, you wouldn't have been this happy, you should be thanking us, what did he say”?
“He said that he loved the way I sang asked is to be friends”.
“Wonderful”…….the girls said at the same time.
“Thanks girls, thank you so much”.
“No problem”……Rose replies.
They both walk home laughting and talking about Cole.

Fifteen minutes later, they make it home and find Mel's dad outside crying loudly with a big crowd surrounding three bodies on their lawn; the bodies were covered with white cloth soaked a little with blood. They were already scared on the sight of the bodies, a voice said at the back of her mind:
“You loved ones are dead”
But she gives the thought a benefit of doubt and walks slowly to the bodies, her legs and arms trembling with fear as she lifted the cloth. IT WAS HER MOTHER, she opened the second and third.
She shouted in a loud voice that depicted pain and sorrow.
“ 'Nooooooooooooooooo, Mum?, Aunt?, Mr. Wilson'?. 'It can't be, it……. can't'”.
Rose and Veronica we're already in tears, they just lost their mother and aunt. Mel's father ordered Marcy ( their maid ) to carry the girls in, she too was crying but she mustered all her strength to do as she was told, she took the girls in and they all cried and mourned for them for Three weeks and the girls didn't even go to school even after the cremation of the bodies. Cole even visited to comfort them and keep them company a little. The death of Mel's mom shook her dad into sickness, he was diagnosed with chronic cancer and this made the girls even more sad especially Mel. She felt like she was never going to be happy again. Or wouldn't she?.
