I looked at Chase with a new demeanor. I saw the shock in his eyes when he saw my face. “Chase I need to train, starting now”, I told him. Casey tried to intervene. “Casey, I love you and Chase just about as much as my own parents, but I am not making this an option. It is an order” I said, looking at both of them. If I was right, they would have no way to refuse training me. I had trained on a daily basis, but it was just more of a self-defense kind of thing. I needed more. A lot more. “Yes mam, Alpha Claire. I have linked the head of our warrior training and Damien will be waiting for you in the training grounds after you change clothes”, Chase answered me, smiling. Casey, on the other hand looked scared to death. “Chase if Damien hurts her. I will….” “Do absolutely nothing, Casey. She will get hurt. No doubt, but this is what she needs. She has been sheltered to long now. All we can do is support her and help her in any way that we can. So you may want to notify the pack doctor and get some ice packs ready” Chase said, interrupting her while smiling just as proud as ever. “Now Claire, go change into something more suitable for training” he said, looking at me. “Yes sir”, I answered as I ran to my room to change. I opened my bedroom door and walked in. It had been my parents' bedroom. After their deaths, I was moved to the Alpha floor instead of my floor and Chase and Casey took the alpha guest suite next to it so they would be right there if and when I needed them. I quickly changed clothes and pulled my long red curls into a ponytail. Then I made sure to secure it with a head wrap band. I had learned my lesson a long time ago about training with my hair just in a ponytail. It is an easy weak point that would have you on the ground within seconds. I stopped at the picture that sat on the dresser of my parents and me. It was the day of my birthday. The day that they died. “I am going to make this right. I am going to find the ones who took you away from me”, I said out loud as I ran my fingers across the image of the two of them. I placed the picture back in its place on the dresser and I ran to the field to meet Damien. Chase was standing out there with Damien waiting for me. Casey was sitting on the bleachers with the pack doctor. The pack doctor stood up and walked to the field as I went down to where Chase and Damien were waiting. The three men were laughing when I walked up. “OK, so are the three of you laughing at me,” I asked, staring daggers at them. They silenced immediately. “ oh no dear Claire. We were laughing at Casey and her protectiveness of you. I am just here to assure her that you will be ok” the pack doctor explained, as he kissed the top of my head. “Now I want you to go out there and make Damien here my patient”, he said, laughing, as he walked back over to Casey. “I seriously doubt that, is going to happen” I mumbled. “It will take some time but you have the ability to do it. You were born with it. You are an Alpha female Claire, and your father's daughter no doubt you have it in you”, Chase said, giving me a pep talk while he helped me get my sparring gear on. Once I had my gear on, Damien and I met in the middle of the field with Chase in between both of us. I looked at Damien. He was about a foot taller than I was and I stood at 5’7”. He also doubled my weight easily and I weight 140. “Are you sure this is what you want, Alpha Claire,” Damien asked me. “Yes sir” I answered. He nodded understanding. Chase began, “OK just to go over the rules with you Claire. At no point are you to shift during this sparring. Do you have enough control over your wolf to assure you this does not happen,” he asked me. “Saharra, do you understand that, under no circumstances, can we shift?” I asked her. ⁶“Yes Claire, I understand “ she answered. I looked at Chase. “Yes I do. We will not shift” I answered. Chase smiled at me, happy to hear that I had control. “OK Claire, you have sparred before, so you know the basics, so I am going to let the two of you go at it so we can see where your weaknesses are. Let us know when and if you need a break. At any point I believe you are hurt I will call the match. Understand “ he asked. I nodded at him. With that Chase signaled the start of the match.
