From where he had been sitting in the middle of the table, it wasn"t too difficult for Fitz to catch everyone else"s eye and subtly signal for them to slip away before dessert. Moreau and Sokolov went out first, together, heading towards the bathrooms off the reception room. But once they were out of sight of most of the party, Fitz saw them duck away towards the back elevator.
Wyss went next. It took him a moment to free himself from the conversation of the aliens seated around him. Fitz had no idea what they were all talking about, as they were all using translator equipment to speak each other"s languages and not Union standard, even Wyss. But then he too was gone towards the back of the house.
