Chapter 5
The second Eli piped up to call Yakecen as his bunkmate, Saito heard nothing else in their crew meeting. It was habit alone that guided him through the rest of it. All that he knew was the memory of Turlach’s hands on his skin and the mean, hurtful things ‘Lach hurled at him the last time they were alone together. He was blind and deaf to anything else.
Despair made his breath hitch. There was no way he could find a graceful way out of this. If he talked to Eli and Yakecen about the new sleeping arrangements, Saito’s secret would be out. Nothing was hidden for long between the crew. If Saito was completely honest, he was surprised they hadn’t been called out yet.
