Diane's POV
“I'm going to miss you so much,” Aubrey said with sniffles.
“You're only a few doors down,” I retort with raised eyebrows.
“So?”
“You will still get to see me every day, silly!” I answered, letting out a chuckle at her theatrical performance.
“But it can never be the same!” She argued with a pout.
I shook my head at her antics, giving her a playful shove.
“Your room is waiting, run along now,” I urged with a barely concealed smile.
“Are you kicking me out now?” She let out a fake gasp, holding her palm to her parted lips.
“Yes, I am,” I reply, my tone laced with sarcasm.
“Fine, but you're not getting a tour of my room!” She huffed dramatically, stomping her feet to her room and shutting the door behind her with a loud bang.
“Silly girl.”
