“What is this?” I questioned swiftly as my eyes grazed over my wound. “Why is my blood black?” I looked between Max and Melia. Max looked just as confused as I felt, but Melia looked as though she knew what exactly was happening with me. She had a devious smile on her face as she pressed the sides of the wound to make it bleed even more into a bowl that she held my hand over. “What are you doing?!” I screamed, trying to get my hand out of her grip, and she looked over at Max with a frown. “Just in case you didn’t notice, now is the best time for you to hold her back so she doesn’t disrupt this process.
