Blair’s head hurt.
Even opening her eyes was a struggle as she blinked back the last remnant of sleep. What had happened? The last thing She remembered clearly was being held tight again the chest of an impossibly tall alpha, his muscles hard against her back and his arms vice like around her waist as he lifted her off the ground.
The smell of his skin, the musk of him had filled her nostrils and then there was nothing.
And now?
Blair moved slowly, not wanting to draw attention to herself if the alpha was still close by.
Except even that movement felt wrong. She wasn’t lying on hard earth she realised with a start. There was no damp grass against her skin. No she was on a bed of some description. Although softer than any she had ever slept on before.
Blair’s eyes flew open. Blinking rapidly .
She definitely wasn’t in the clearing anymore.
And it was daylight, sunlight spilled from the high windows. Which meant She hadn’t made it back to her master.
Graxon would kill her .
“Easy now” It was nothin but a dull rumble from behind her as Blair struggled to sit up in the tangle of blankets.
Whirling , Blair fell off the sleeping pod and onto her bottom with a oomph. legs still tangled in the numerous blankets She had been covered with whilst She slept.
“Are you ok?” He was at her side in an instant. Reaching down he caught her under the elbow. Easily lifting Blair to her feet as if she weighed nothing at all.
“I…” Blair let herself meet his gaze for a split second, and lowered her eyes to stare at her bare feet again. Staring at her feet was much safer than looking at his face. The alpha from the shadows. The alpha that got her heart racing.
But she knew her place.
She was a good omega.
“Are you hungry?” He was trying to be friendly , there was even a note of kindness in his voice although Blair could see the rapid rise and fall of his chest as he started to pace.
“Where is my master?” Blair couldn’t help but flinch as he whirled on her with a growl, his face a harsh mask. “You…”
“I’m sorry” She curled around herself, it always hurt when her master beat her and he was just a beta. Not much bigger than she was at all and this man. This man was huge.
She didn’t want him mad at her.
“You don’t have a master anymore” His fingers curled around Blair’s chin lifting her face to meet his.
She kept my eyes lowered. Even as something deep inside of her started to ache.
It was disrespectful to meet a masters eyes. And Blair was in enough trouble as it was.
“Won’t you look at me sweet Omega?”
She shook my head.
Sweet omega ?
“No” His fingers tightened on her chin, squeezing without causing pain. “Are you hungry?” His voice was almost strained as if he was fighting some internal battle. And maybe he was. He was an Alpha after all. Maybe he had already …
Mentally Blair took stock of her body. She didn’t feel any different. She wasn’t sore down there like she was usually after her master had used her body.
So it was more than likely that he hadn’t forced himself on her when She was unconscious. It didn’t mean he wouldn’t but for now she was untouched.
“No sir” she said it in her most timid voice. “I need to get back to my master before he realises I am gone”
It was far to late for that and Blair knew it. But maybe her punishment wouldn’t be so severe if he knew She had been taken against her will. Maybe the alpha could vouch for her?
“And I have told you you don’t have a master anymore” He roared , the sudden loss of his hands on her face making her stumble with a cry. “No Beta should be master of you. You are an omega” His constant growls were sending shock waves through Blair’s body. “Only an alpha should…” He paused , turning finally to look back at her , his silver eyes swirling. “Don’t be so scared little one, what is your name?”
“Blair” She forced the words out. Why was he asking her name?
“ I am Hades, and you are safe now. You are with an alpha who can protect you. Who can help you through your estrus”
Estrus? Blair blinked at him. Panic bubbling in her throat. She needed to go back. needed her pills. She couldn’t go into heat surrounded by all these alphas.
She would be torn apart.
Hadn’t she been told that her entire adult life? It was why She was on the suppressants in the first place so her master could keep her safe?
“I need my…” Finally Blair raised her eyes up to his face, neck straining. “Please sir , I need my pills without them..”
“Suppressants? That’s why your scent was so weak to me. The old man has been making to take them so you wouldn’t attract the men who should be having you?”
“He didn’t want…” She trailed off. “Please just take me back to my master”
“I am your master now”
His roar was thunderous and Blair fell to her knees in terror. Head bowed as she knelt at his feet. “Yes master” I whimpered.
