Ch. 48

I was deep in the woods again, running for my life. Only this time there was no snow, no mountain. There was soft green grass under my feet. I was running toward a field of dark royal blue flowers. Their sweet scent wafted in the air, but the smell was not soothing. It did little to help the fear that was eating away at me. The thought that if I stopped running I would die, continued to play in my head. Something dark and evil was chasing me, but I couldn't see or smell it. I could only sense it and hear it as it snapped twigs behind me. It was gaining on me and it felt like no matter how hard I pushed I couldn't speed up.
