The Aftermath
ACE'S POV
Of late ,Yvonne had been calling to ask where I was after she come back home from work. It was not normal, therefore I chose to look into it.
This very day, I lied that I would come late at night but only to reach home a few minutes later.
My instincts never failed me. I found Jayden crying. Jayden was my son whom I loved dearly.
I carried Jayden up to look for her mother who should be taking care of her now that she is home.
Opening the master bedroom and finding her cheating on me was hard to believe. I left then in a hurry.
It felt like all of a sudden, my life did stop. I couldn't breath. What followed was my heart beating so fast in my chest.
Anger started bubbling up my intestines and I went to the kitchen. I wanted to pick the butcher's knife to end their lives but I figured that it was not worth it.
The woman was a w***e. There was no way any normal married woman would ever sleep with her driver.
We share the same profession, we are both Lawyers and we met in law school. We fell in love and got married after that.
We have been married close to four years now and we have a two year old son together.
It really angered me that she chose to throw that away and to end up cheating in our master bedroom.
She really did have the guts to do such a thing.
I walked up to the stairs back to our room. I needed to confront her right there and then. There is no way I was going to condone what she had done. I needed to face her and tell her what next now that she had decided to find solace in someone else.
"Yvonne!"I yelled her name. Good thing that stupid driver was no longer in sight.
"Before you say anything, just know that I don't regret it."She said sternly.
"You son of a b***h! "I rushed wanting to hit her but she pointed on her phone which was recording everything.
Yvonne is a good lawyer and if she has a case and evidence, then she could easily land me to jail.
"You are a f*****g w***e,"I spat.
"I don't care Ace, all I know is that, there is nothing you can do."She said an evil smirk playing on her lips.
"Leave my house right now! Pack everything and leave my f*****g house!"I shouted.
She clapped twice just to be dramatic before she said,"Who are you kidding Ace, this is my house. I bought it with my parents money. To make it clear, leave my house!"She commanded.
"f**k you Yvonne, it was a mistake marrying you,"I said through gritted teeth as I opened the wardrobes and took out my suits.
I was going to leave her and divorce her. It is better for me to stay without a wife than to be with her.
"I am taking my son with me,"I announced after I packed everything.
"Take him, I don't have time for him now and we both know it,"She said this about his own son.
"You are going to regret this Yvonne,"I told her and I know that is the truth. She is doing to regret making our marriage fail and giving up her son.
"I won't, in fact, I am going to start my law firm to compete with your law firm. Trust me on this Ace, I will win!"She said and it caught me by surprise.
"What did you just say, I know you won't,"I had not thought that she would surely do that.
"I will Ace and I will bring you down!"She said with so much confidence and I knew that I should work very hard to ensure that her dreams to beat me will just be purely dreams and nothing else.
No reality in it.
Even without saying it, our enemity had started and on my world, I was done with women.
Yvonne changed. She was the same woman back in law school who was so conservative, loving and caring. I loved her for that.
Now, she is a b***h. Every woman changes and I don't think I will ever give love another chance.
I will focus on building my law firm. It will be big and unbeatable in the country, just like the way it has always been.
I was going to win this fight against Yvonne.
