“You can take a day off since you’re not feeling well. To settle your mind the meeting with Mr. Thompson went well” I announced, she beamed and bowed curtly. I wriggled my head and strode up to my office.

I was bewildered when I realized that Audrey was just too good, her sister's word had confirmed that she just willingly brought herself out to get hurt. I can’t such a stupid human exist, however that doesn’t alter the feelings I had developed for her. I left the room when I can’t take the whole stupid human things and went downstairs. I met Shadow lurking in the dark, I believe he is just finding a way to sneak back into the room to eavesdrop on what was going on between Audrey and me.

However, I wasn’t ready to show my true form to her as there would be dire consequences. “Loser!” I mumbled as I strode past him.

“Finally! You came down after a long while. Are you alright?” He inquired, I just glanced at him and turned away. “Come on Ryan, I’m just thinking of you. I’m your assistant and I feel that you’re in deep turmoil.” I rolled my eyes and sat down on the sofa.

“What do you think is wrong with me?”

“Lovesickness, although I realized late definitely I could tell that you’re lovesick” I huffed and sat upright.

“I bet you’re the sick one, don’t mention such things to me” I warned with a stern look.

“You came back from her store all alone with a gloomy look. That shows you must have met with something unpleasant or a competitor” he added and continued to taunt me. He only did this when I refused to open up to him. “I’ve warned you to watch your mouth, I will take no disrespect” I asserted, he shrugged and sat on his own. I chuckled slightly and locked my eyes.

“I met with Andrew” I finally said to calm his mind. He jumped off the sofa and moved closer to me.

“Andrew! Your competitor, who is he?” He asked anxiously.

“The one that turned Audrey into a sadist” he cracked up, laughing out loud with his hand on his belly. “Oh my, now I realize what has happened. He must be better and more handsome than you, that made you a little threatened” he asserted, I grimaced and thought with my hands on my jaw where I’ve got this lunatic as an assistant. Although Andrew is good-looking I’m far better than him, so I thought, checking myself out. I have faith in myself and I’d know that Audrey would choose me over him once she set her eyes on my true form. I nodded my head in confidence and ignored the big mouth of Shadow who Intently tried everything to piss me off once he had the chance.

“It made sense why she has been gloomy, she still couldn’t give up on him. She still wants to patch things up with Andrew” he continued. Although I decided not to get annoyed, his words hit right on my chest.

“I believe you must be tired of your freedom, that’s why you speak without thinking. Anybody that tries to piss off their master would be sent away” I asserted with my eyes still locked, he choked and inched closer to me.

“Come on buddy, I was just pulling your legs” he quickly as he attempted to massage my shoulder.

“That’s unacceptable! Get ready to go back home. Besides we need more talented warriors like you for the demon clan” he shook his head in disapproval and pleaded for mercy. Although I was just pulling his legs, I made it seem like it was real, which made him remain calm for the entire night. Slowly I got up from the seat and moved up to the other where my things had been placed, I changed to a casual outfit, took to the keep to my Lamborghini, and stepped downstairs.

“Hey, where are you going without me?” Shadow rushed to me and asked. I was about to speak to him when my cell phone rang.

“Rodney!” I mumbled as the call connected.

“I’ve sent the things you’ve asked” he asserted and tried to end the call.

“Baby bro, the work isn’t done yet.” I asserted through the file of Mr. Steve Thompson. He let out a loud groan and also threatened to end the call.

“Well, his company would be the best for Audrey’s store, which is an upcoming brand designer,” I thought as I went through his details.

“Are you playing with me, what else do you want me to do for you big bro?” He inquired, drawing the “big bro” with sarcasm. I hissed, ignored his gloomy response, and informed him what he should do. He was bewildered that he tried to get more information, I huffed and immediately ended the call.

“Damn you! Ryan” he slammed his hand on the table the moment he realized that I had run off and refused to explain what was between me and Audrey. That wasn’t enough as I still have Shadow who was gazing at me with amazement.

“f**k!” I uttered and left in large strides. I hurriedly ignited the car and drove into the pathways of Boston. “Atlas, I was able to ditch Shadow and Rodney,” I thought to myself. Abruptly my eyes met the rear view, I instantly hit on the brake as I saw Shadow sitting at the back of the car.

“What the f**k are you doing here? You nearly scared the wit out of me” I took a deep breath and turned to him shooting daggers at him.

“Come on, Ryan. You’ve always taken me wherever you go, why are you leaving me behind?” He inquired in a calm tone. I let out a deep sigh, ignored him, and fixed my gaze on the back road as I drove through the nightclubs of Boston.
