It was half-past six in the evening that I decided to let Addison head back home. “This is another step” I gazed at the outfits I made for the fair and giggled. I took my cell phone from the desk and decided to call Andrew to inform him of my new improvement which was good news. I placed a call but it rang continuously without answering, I bit my lips thinking about what he was doing that made him not answer. I packed up things, locked up the store, hailed a cab, and went home.

Reaching Newbury street I paid the cab driver and took the eleventh up to the last floor.

“Charlotte!” I uttered as I changed my stilettos and stepped into the living room. “Hey! Audrey, you’re back” she walked down the stairs with puffy eyes.

“Come on, what are you doing sleeping in the room, you could have watched Netflix. I even left popcorn with KFC chicken in the fridge” I embraced patting her back soothingly. I’d always put myself in her position. That's how I realized that she is going through a lot. Being treated badly by my parents or family would be a nightmare for me.

“You really don’t have to bother about me, I’m fine and I wasn’t bored” she muttered with a glint in her eyes, I pulled her out of my embrace and shrugged.

“Have your parents contacted you since you left England?” I inquired, walking to the sofa. She chuckled mockingly and sat down next to me. “They loathe me, why would they enquire about me?” I breathed heavily and took her right hand on my palm. “Don’t worry we will get through this together” she nodded and told me to go upstairs and change that she would make dinner, I beamed and went up to my room. At least with Charlotte here, I won’t have to bother about looking after my apartment or preparing meals. I had my bath and came downstairs.

In the dining hall, I kept falling into a daze as I was thinking if Andrew had fallen into any difficulties. “What’s the matter? You’ve barely had your food” Charlotte snapped at me, I shuddered and recovered from my daze. “Oh, It’s nothing, I’m just worried about Andrew. He hasn’t returned my call, maybe he was met with difficulties” Charlotte suddenly dropped her cutlery and stared at me.

“I think you should relax for a while, he will call you” I heaved a sigh of relief and nodded in agreement. I ate a handful of the meal and stood up to leave, that was when I heard my cell phone ring. I peaked at the caller ID and smiled, “Hey! What the heck is wrong with you? I’ve been calling for a long time” I asserted as the call connected.

“I’m sorry, I was having a rest when you called. You know I haven’t had a good rest since I started work” I smiled and relaxed my mind.

“Don’t scare me like this again. I thought something must have happened to you” I strode to the living room and sat down on a single couch.

“It wasn’t intentional. Look, Audrey, I want us to speak”

“Well, you know the way to my apartment, you can come anytime you want” I responded, biting my lip.

“That’s not it, I want to speak to you in private, not in your house” he asserted in a stern voice.

“Fine! But is everything alright?”

“Yes, I just few words to say to you” I ran my hand through my hair wondering what he wanted to say. “When is that?” I creased my brow.

“If you can step out now, I’ll call you when I arrive at your place we can leave then”

“That’s a good idea, see you then” I ended the call.

“Going somewhere?” Charlotte asked as she walked up to me. “Yes, Andrew just called and he wants us to meet,” I explained.

“Then I would go with you” she asserted, I nodded in disapproval. “He wants to meet in private. Take care of the house I’ll see you in a bit” I stepped up to my room to get changed. Charlotte groaned inwardly and threw herself on the sofa, “the guts of him to meet up with Audrey in private” she thought to herself while clenching her fist. She walked up to her room, grabbed her cell phone, and dialed Andrew's number but it declined. “Damn man! You blocked my line, she gritted her while thinking of a way. Abruptly, she recalled the new line she just got when she escaped from her home and smiled.

She quickly made a call to Andrew with the line and it went through, “son of a b***h! You had the mind to blacklist me” she uttered angrily.

“Charlotte! How did you do?” He inquired with shock and checked his phone but found out that she contacted him with some order number. His look turned gloomy but decided to keep calm.

“What can I do for you?”

“Why are you meeting with Audrey at this time?” Charlotte asked bluntly, which caused Andrew to take a deep breath. “That is none of your business, I think you should restrain from meddling in other people's matters “ Andrew mumbled impatiently as he tried to end the call.

“I know what you are planning to do but I’ll advise you, don’t even think about it” she warned. Andrew remained silent listening to what she had to say, Charlotte cleared her throat and notified him to cancel any plans he had with me, he creased his brow and attempted to retort but got a beep sound from the other end of the call. “f**k!” He slammed his fist on the table angrily. “Think of it, why am I so pissed? I could just pretend as if nothing happened and continue making out with Charlotte. Audrey won’t be aware. Besides that haven’t had s*x with Audrey and Charlotte is willing to satisfy my urge ” Andrew thought to himself while pacing around his apartment. With that, he decided to play along with Charlotte.
