I am just the babysitter

Ella's p.o.v

We finish up everything party related. We got everything booked and deposits paid off already. We found someone who can set up a buffet so we don't have to worry about choosing one type of food. I ordered so many pizzas and her cake will be 2 tiers and have every single princess on it. She is getting princess cookies, cake pops and pretzel sticks. The cupcakes are little mermaids with the tails. Absolutely adorable. She told me Ariel is her top favorite princess, and she is also mine. I had to make sure she stood out a little more. The bouncy house is super cute. I swear I am living vicariously through her. My inner child feels happy. "Thank you for helping me ladies. I have never had a party, so planning this makes me so happy. I want to get it all right. I want it to be perfect for her." I say and don't miss the way Victoria and Vanna look at each other. "You have to let me help with party planning for little Alex." I tell Victoria. But they are all now looking at me with wide eyes. "What? If you don't want me to help, that is okay. I won't help." I say. "Did you just say you never had a birthday party?" Vanna asks. I nod my head. "It was always just my mom and I, so no. She said she had a party for me once, but no-one showed up and she never found my father, so instead we would go out to dinner on my birthday. She said she never wanted me to cry over no-one showing up again, so she made sure I had a nice day, just the two of us. I always felt like it was us two against the world." I tell them. I suddenly feel really sad. I miss my mom so damn much. Victoria wipes the tears from her eyes. "Sorry, it's just so sad and this baby is making me so emotional." she says. Yup, my best friend is pregnant again. I am so happy for her, but also a little jealous. I wish I could find someone. I have been thinking about having a family now more than ever. I feel so lonely, even while I am surrounded by all of these people. I wish I had something that was just mine. "Well, your 23rd birthday is coming up, we need to do something big." Victoria says. "We need to get her laid," Vanna says and I turn bright red. "I was thinking that we can have a girl's night out tonight." I tell them and everyone looks at me in shock. Vanessa and Verlene are busy with the baby and, luckily, are paying us no attention. "Yes, yes, yes, yes." Victoria shouts. "Vanessa, can you babysit him so we can take Ella out tonight?" Victoria asks her mom, who nods and rolls her eyes at her daughter. "We are taking you to a bar, we are going to have a good time. We will meet you at your house at 7pm to help you get ready." Vann says. "We will also bring alcohol and flavored water." she adds, looking at Victoria. I nod and hug them all and make my way back home. I decide to eat and take a nap before they get here.

Elias's p.o.v

I check my phone and it is 11am, sh*t, I jump up and go looking for Evelyn. She is sitting down watching her princess show and singing along. "Goodmorning babygirl." I say and kiss her on the head. "Morning daddy." she says and goes back to her show. "You hungry?" I ask her. "No, I ate breakfast already." she says. I watch Mitch walk down the stairs. "Elias, why did I wake up naked on your bed?" she asks me and blushes. "Did we?" she asks and I shake my head. "Nothing happened. You came here drunk. You woke up my daughter and then went upstairs and fell asleep on my bed. I guess you took your clothes off at some point, but I slept in my guest bedroom. Nothing happened between us, and if I am honest, nothing will ever happen. I see you as a friend, Mitch. I am sorry if I made you think I liked you as more than that." I tell her. "Don't tell me you like that babysitter of yours." she says and laughs. I frown. "Mitch." I start, but she holds her hands up. "I am kidding Elias. Come on, even I know you have higher standards than a babysitter. She's cute, maybe for a f*ck, but she wouldn't make a good mother for your daughter. She needs a mother who has a career. Someone she can look up to." she says. "Daddy, am I going to grandma's house today?" Evelyn asks me. "Yes." I say. "Well, I will be getting out of here. Thanks for taking care of me. Bye," Mitch says and walks out the front door. What the f*ck was that? I shake my head. "lets go get your bag and get you to grandma's house." I tell Evelyn. I was waiting for Ella to come. They were supposed to choose things for Evelyn's party, but it's getting late and she hasn't came. I help Evelyn put her shoes on. "Why did that lady sleep on your bed?" she asks me and I freeze. She saw her. "Oh, you saw her." I say. "Yeah, Ella saw her too." she says and my eyes go wide. "What, where did Ella see her?" I ask my daughter as my heart beats wildly in my chest. "She came so I can pick everything for my party. I picked some cool things daddy. Ella said my party will be the best one ever.." She tells me. "Sweetie, where was Ella when she saw Mitch?" I ask. "In my room, daddy. That woman came out of your room. I heard them talking. I told Ella that you were asleep and we had to be quiet and then Ella carried me down here with her and she fed me breakfast and we went over party things and she said she had to go plan my party and she left." she tells me and to think that I almost thanked Mitch for feeding my daughter breakfast and taking care of her while I over slept. The whole time it was Ella who came over and handled that. She didn't even have to. I can't believe she saw Mitch here and in my room. Did she think I spent the night with her? She must think the worst of me. She probably thinks that I bring women in and out of my house and my daughter sees it all. "lets go sweetheart." I say, knowing I have to talk to Ella at some point. I should let it go and not care, because she is just the babysitter and I shouldn't care what she thinks, but I am lying to myself. I care and I am pissed at all of the things Mitch said about Ella. She is way out of line.

"Lincoln brother, I just dropped off Evelyn with her grandmother. Anything going on tonight?" I ask my brother from the motorcycle club. I trust him more than the rest, although they are all good men. "Hey brother, well my wife and her friends are all having a girls' night out at the bar, but we are crashing it because although they are trying to cheer Ella up, we can't allow them to be alone. Too many creeps out there. You can join us if you'd like." he tells me. "What's wrong with Ella?" I ask. "I forget she is your babysitter." He says and laughs. "I have no idea, all Victoria said is they are trying to cheer her up and her upcoming 23rd birthday and idk all these other things that don't make sense. You know female sh*t" he says. "Cool, well give me the details and I'll make sure to stop by." I say. "Cool, see you later." he tells me and I hang up.

Ella's p.o.v

"We are here!" I hear banging on my front door and I go open it and Vanna stands there holding up a tequila bottle. She walks in, followed by Victoria, her twin sister and Vanna's girlfriend Dani. They all greet me with a hug and everyone makes themselves comfortable. "Okay, so a shot first," Vanna says, and she hands us all a shot, and Victoria gets a shot full of flavored water. "1, 2, 3 to finding Ella a d*ck to ride on" Vanna says and they all cheer and laugh and clink the litte cups and we drink the liquid that thankfully runs smooth down my throat. "How about that firefighter you work for." Valeria says and I am sure my face is red right now. "She babysits his kid." Dani says. "Exactly, it can't happen." I say. Dani gives me a pointed look. "She babysits his kid, hot fire fighter, a sexy babysitter. I love it. I say yes it definitely can happen." she finishes and I just stare at her with an open mouth. I thought she would be on my side. "Nah, I think he is in a relationship, he is for sure sleeping with some woman named Mitch. I want a man for me. You know I don't like sharing." I tell them. "We know. You are just like us. We don't share our men." Valeria says and Victoria nods. "Maybe you will find your happily ever after tonight at the bar. You know it's kind of how Lincoln and I met, at a club. Anything can happen. Just stay positive, now go try on these clothes." she says, and hands me a dress. I go to my room and put it on. Man, this is short. I walk back out and they all smile wide. "That's the one. Don't even try anything else on." Dani says and the girls all nod. "Put on these shoes and these earrings," Valeria says. I get pulled into a chair while they work on my hair and makeup. "Done" Vanna says, and I stand up and stare at myself in the mirror and woah, I look beautiful. "Wow" I say. "Another shot, before we go." Vanna says and hands us all shots. "Lets go get our girl laid" she says and we take the shot and Victoria hands me a cute leather jacket. I grab it and we head out. She is our DD since she can't drink.

We arrive at the bar and it is a cute little place that I would have never thought to come to. Not that I get out much anyway. We get inside and I look around. Victoria and I are holding hands and seeing all of these people around, my heart beats faster and I really hope no-one approaches us or me. We get to a table and Vanna orders drinks for everyone and a mocktail for Victoria and extra waters, so we don't get drunk. I am not a big drinker or party girl, so I have no idea what to expect. At least Victoria is here, because I know she is just like me. We sit down and Victoria tells me about her pregnancy and her classroom and I tell her how babysitting Evelyn is going. "So, you and Elias?" she whispers and I shake my head. She knows I think he is hot. "You seem upset by that woman he is seeing or sleeping with." she whispers and I shake my head again. "Oh no, I don't care. I mean it sucks obviously, but he is single and he can do whatever he wants. I am just the babysitter," I say and she shakes her head and shrugs. "Lets forget about men for tonight and have some fun." she tells me and I smile. This is exactly what I need.

We are drinking and having such a great time. Vanna got on the table and is singing loudly. I am starting to feel a small buzz so I begin to relax a bit. "Oh f*ck, really." Valeria says. "Hey girls" their sister in law Amy says, and I watch her and their brother Julian or Runner, as he likes to be called walk up with Diablo who is already wiggling his eyebrows at me. That guy is such a flirt. He flirts with any woman around. "Go away", Victoria tells them, but pulls Amy to our table. "I don't think your husband would appreciate this." her brother tells her. "I didn't know you had a brain to think with." she shoots back and we all laugh. I love their banter. It is so cute to watch. Again, the feeling of being lonely creeps up. No parents, no siblings, no kids, no relatives, no anything. Just me alone in this world. "I actually have a very big brain Victoria. Lets ask Lincoln what he thinks though." he smirks and Lincoln is walking in, followed by some guys looking like they have come straight out of a biker magazine. I pat my hair down, hoping I don't look too crazy. The girls are right. What if I meet my future husband here tonight? I quickly send a prayer and ask for a sign. Just something to hold on to. I need to know that there is someone out there for me. I would like to hope that I meet my happily ever after and not end up alone like mom was her whole life. I look up and my eyes lock with Elias. He is staring at me and gives me what I think is a smile. He looks angry though. Sh*t. What is he even doing here? This can't be my sign can it? I notice he looks behind me and the frown he was already sporting deepens. I feel Diablo's hot breath on my ear and I turn around. "What did you just say?" I ask him, because I did not hear anything he just said. I was too busy seeing and thinking about the man who just walked in and has me feeling things I have no business feeling.
