Finally, The Day Came
On the day of her 18th birthday, Aurora woke up early. Her heart was beating fast with the thought of finding her mate. Although she had a huge crush on Alexander but she still wanted to be with her fated mate since she believed that the moon goddess could never go wrong when it comes to mate. So, whoever it will be, she will accept that person wholeheartedly.
She got ready in her special dress which she bought for her college. She walked into the college campus, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. She had been looking forward to this day for years, and she was eager to see who her fated mate would be.
As she walked through the bustling campus, she could feel the energy in the air. Everyone seemed to be in a festive mood, celebrating the occasion with balloons, decorations, and cake. There were only happy faces, and Aurora found it amazing. Aurora smiled to herself, feeling grateful for the friends and family who had supported her throughout her life.
But then she saw Alexander, surrounded by his friends and girlfriend, Nora. He looked at Aurora with a cold, disdainful expression, and she knew in her heart that something was wrong.
She tried to ignore him and turned to the different side, but she stopped as soon as she heard.
"Hey, Aurora!" Alexander called out, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "Come here; I have something to tell you."
His voice seemed music to her ears, and it was different from other days. She looked at him and started walking to him, unknowingly. Aurora felt her heart racing as she walked towards him; her friends were not with her yet. Alexander's eyes narrowed as he looked at her, and she knew something bad was about to happen.
She was nervous, but her heart and the butterflies in her stomach were telling her that he was the one. She just wanted to hear it from him.
Soon she was standing in front of him. Aurora was 5'7 in height, and Alexander was 6, so they were looking like a perfect couple.
He moved closer to her, and suddenly, she felt a tingling sensation in her body. Alexander held her waist and pulled her closer to him. She was taken aback by this behavior. She looked at him, and suddenly
Alexander's eyes color changed. Aurora knew that his wolf wanted to control, but suddenly, they turned to normal.
Alexander brought his lips near to her ears, and she felt his hot breaths along with the words, "I just wanted to tell you, Aurora, that you're my fated mate," Alexander said, his voice loud and clear.
She heard him and suddenly turned to him with a smile, thinking that she found her mate. However, her happiness was short-lived.
Aurora was silent, but the loud cheering and clapping of the people can be heard. It felt like a dream to her, but she knew it was not. She was ready to hear her mate.
Alex cupped her face in his large hands and asked, "Do you want me to proceed here?"
Aurora was confused, but soon she understood what he was trying to say, and unknowingly, she nodded her head.
Alex smiled and took a step back, making some distance between him and Aurora. Suddenly the environment was quiet, and everybody was keenly watching and recording it. Aurora was happy and blushing; her eyes were glued to her feet.
Soon she heard Alexander, "I, Alexander Reed, soon to be alpha of the Lunar Howl Pack, reject you Aurora Mendis."
He completed, and Aurora was stunned and shocked. She couldn't believe her ears. She looked at him confusingly, and he continued, "I choose Nora to be my mate."
Aurora felt like she had been punched in the stomach. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. All around her, she could hear the whispers and murmurs of the people watching, and she felt their eyes on her, judging her.
"You're a worthless piece of garbage, Aurora," Alexander continued, his voice growing louder. "I never wanted you as my mate, and I never will."
Her dreams were shattered when she was mated to Alexander, the soon-to-be Alpha of their pack. Alexander had never been kind to Aurora, taunting and bullying her since they were children. Despite her best efforts to win his approval and affection, he remained distant and cruel.
Aurora soon realized that Alexander had known all along that she was his mate, but he had been waiting for her to turn 18 so that he could reject her publicly. And that was exactly what he did. In front of the entire college, Alexander called Aurora to him, only to cruelly reject her and declare his intention to choose his girlfriend Nora as his mate instead.
Aurora was devastated and humiliated; her dreams of finding love and happiness were shattered. She felt alone and helpless, with nowhere to turn and no one to confide in. But little did she know that her fate was about to take a drastic turn.
She was about to turn when she felt a punch on her back, and the next moment, she was on the land. She turned and found Nora smiling devilishly along with Alexander and his friends. She was holding the can of soft drink, which she threw on Aurora, cursing, "You b***h, how can you think of having my boyfriend."
She bent down and grabbed her hair tightly, and asked, looking into her eyes, "What did you think that he would accept you? He never wanted you. We just wanted to have some fun, and trust me, we did this decoration especially for you."
"Especially for your birthday." .she continued, and everyone started laughing. They were laughing, it didn't hurt Aurora that much, but what shattered her was Alexander, who was enjoying her pitiful condition.
She wanted her mate to take a stand for her, but nothing like that happened. She was crying her heart out when suddenly Alexander yelled, "Stop it."
Everyone turned to him, and he took slow baby steps toward Aurora; he bent on her level and held her chin tightly. He threatened, "Aurora Mendis, accept the rejection."
"Now" he screamed, and she shivered.
He made her stand and threatened her, ",Accept" and soon her shivering lips started moving, and she said, "I, Aurora Mendis, accept your rejection."
With that, a sharp pain erupted in Aurora's body and she fell on the floor again. The rain started, and everybody started running here and there.
However, poor Aurora was still there. She was crying for her faith. She sat in that heavy rain for hours, and when she knew no one was going to come for her, she stood on her weak feet and started walking towards her home with her broken heart.
