“Mom!”, I exclaimed with a shaky breath.
She responded with a look of surprise, “What are you..”
My palms started to sweat as I wondered how much she had heard and how she would take to the news.
I turned to the guys for help and they were all on their feet, watching and waiting for what would happen next.
I glanced back at my mom and the smile plastered on her face completely caught me off guard.
“Oh my! You don't know how happy this makes me”, she chimed with joy, stepping into the room as I stood rooted to one spot.
“What?!”, I asked in shock. The guys seemed to have the same shocked expression as I did.
“I was really worried about all of you getting along as step siblings so I'm very glad to see you all together in one place. It shows I was just worried about nothing”
