"More than half of your kingdom has been evacuated so far. We just received notice from some of our scouts that our unwelcome guests have made their arrival." Edward said from one side of the conference table. I sat at the other end while the entire council and King Carson and his beta were seated in the middle.
"So what are my options here?" I asked, hoping his answers, or anyone's really, would be different from my own conclusions.
"Well, you can choose to walk away. You don't have to be king, you surrendered your title. And according to our laws, you are no longer liable," Edward said.
"That cant be right!" Howard exclaimed, ready to blow a gasket. "This imbecile handed his throne to a Sire on a silver platter!! And for what, a human?!"
