Chapter 5On her first morning back at Corporate, Janet looked up from her desk. “How did you get in here?” A Denver County Sheriff's Deputy stood before her desk, an envelope in his hand. Janet had instantly recognized the uniform, her father having worn one for years. “Deputy Anthony Stewart,” he said, stepping forward and handing her the envelope. “A subpoena for the doorport records for one Barnaby Thornton, date of birth twenty sixty-nine, January second.” Janet didn't even blink. “My apologies for not returning your call last week.
