PJ
I knew that following Caleb would give me more answers than asking Scarlett. She has definitely been keeping quite a lot of information from me. I have always liked Scarlett, but she has been very sneaky about this job, making me angrier and angrier.
It was so boring having to sit in that coffee shop, but it was the only way I would ever find out what is happening between them both. I still don't think Caleb has clocked on to who I am, that it was me that he saw down by the canal that night they were together.
Scarlett has a job to do, and I think she needs to be reminded of that. Plus, I am not letting him take her from me. She was mine first. I had to watch what I was doing, though. I had people that I had to answer too with this job. I can put the fear into Caleb, but only to a certain extent. I wanted to tell Scarlett the truth badly about him because whatever was going on in her head, she would change her mind if she knew the truth. It isn't even his real name; his real name is Logan Thomson.
I will continue to make Caleb feel paranoid by leaving him items, but I can only do that for so long until he realises what I'm up to.
Having the flat across from Scarlett's is brilliant as it means I know ninety per cent of the time what she is up to, when she leaves for work or when she goes to meet him. I only have the flat for another few weeks so I will need to make the most of it.
She must think I am stupid. I see the way she looks at him. There was nothing pretend about it. It would never work, because she knows if she doesn't do as she is meant to do, I can get to her in other ways. I know the people she cares about, and I can get to every single one of them. I have information that could ruin her! It is something else I think I need to remind her of.
I'm going to have to put more pressure on Scarlett, so she gets this job done. We all know that if she doesn't complete it, then someone else will, but she will have to face the consequences of not finishing a job. I will need to pay her another unexpected visit.
I also need to get back to the coffee shop and leave some things for Caleb, so he stays away from Scarlett, in the way he wants to be close to her. They both need not to get any closer, or the task will not get completed. It needs to get finished sooner rather than later.
I decided to head to Scarlett's first before she heads out to work, and tomorrow I will make my trip to the coffee shop. I knew she would be sleeping, trying to rest before her shift. I let myself in, making my way in quietly, just making sure she wasn't around. She was nowhere in sight. I headed straight to her bedroom. I stood, watching her. I hate that she is so beautiful, and she refuses to be mine.
I made my way to the bed, sitting on the edge and reached in, to push the hair away from her eyes, but before I had a chance, there was a gun pointing at me.
"It is me, put the damn gun down," I hissed.
"What the hell are you doing?" Scarlett shouted as she took the gun away from my head.
"Jeez, Scarlett I don't think I expected that, suppose I did deserve it though," I laughed as I sat back down.
I really did deserve to have a gun pointed at me. I'm glad she can still take care of herself when needed. She put on the lamp next to her bed to let more light in the room and sat the gun down.
"You should maybe put the safety on that weapon Miss Cross. We don't want any accidents," I said whilst staring at the gun.
"You shouldn't sneak up on someone the way you just did, especially since you know what the person is capable of, since you trained them," She said, annoyed and ran her fingers through her hair.
"Come on, you know me by now, sweetness, I show up when I please," I smirked, "Has your neck cleared up?" I added.
"Yes," She said with no emotion to her tone.
"I am sorry about that, Scar, but it had to be done," I said.
"It had to be done! Are you serious?" Scarlett was getting angry now.
"Look I've apologised, let's just move on ok!" I said with a stern tone to my voice.
OH, I do like it when Scarlett gets all angry, it makes her so sexy. She just sat there looking at me and didn't say a word.
"How was your stroll around the park?” I asked with raised eyebrows.
"It was you, I knew it," She said, not sounding too pleased.
"Why do you seem so surprised? I have told you a hundred times, I am always somewhere," I said.
"So, is there a reason you are here?" She asked.
I scooted closer to her, looking her straight in the eye.
"Yes, to remind you, you have a job to do," I said firmly.
"I know," She said, "Why do you keep getting on at me? You always just left me to it," She added.
"This time seems different Scar; you are too attached to the person you are after." I said, "I see the way you are together, and I'm afraid you are not going to complete the task at hand." I added with a slight smirk.
"I'm fine PJ, just let me do my job." She growled at me.
"You know I can have someone else on the phone in five minutes to complete the job for me," I growled back at her.
She just sighed, looking right through me. It's times like this that I wish we were close so I could wrap her in my arms.
"No, don't do that," She said, "I will do it," She added.
I reached over, pushing the strands of her red hair that had fallen over her eyes, and pushing it behind her ear. I sighed, shaking my head. I never understood why she never gave me a chance. I was good too. I looked after her, and that one night we did share, it was something special, and I know she enjoyed it also, even if she does regret it, even if she refuses to talk about it.
"You know if you had just given us a chance we could have worked out," I told her.
"PJ, don’t do this." She said, looking me in the eye.
"But why Scarlett, we just click." I smiled, taking her hand.
"PJ, enough." She said, pulling her hand away from me.
"Logan, Logan is your boyfriend's name," I said as I stood up to pace the floor.
"PJ what are you talking about?" Scarlett said with a confused look on her face.
"Nothing forget I said anything," I said, shaking my head.
I shouldn't have told her that if she accidentally calls him Logan, then that is the full plan messed up.
"It isn't nothing, why has he changed his name?" She asked firmly.
"That is information that you do not need to know," I said, "I told you, he isn't who you think he is," I added.
I don't know why she would want someone like him anyway. I could give her everything. I could look after her.
"Look Scarlett just forget about it for now, if you don't want consequences just leave it," I told her firmly.
"Ok, ok I will leave it for now, but I will not forget about it." She said.
"If you do not want me to visit your darling, Caleb, I suggest you do as your told," I said.
"I said I will leave it for now." Scarlett scowled at me.
I really hope she does keep this information to herself. I do not need any hassle just now. I can't believe I slipped up out of anger and told her information she does not need to know.
"I will see you soon, sweetheart," I said, kissing her cheek.
I left after that. Now, it's Caleb's time.
