Chapter 10 Shane usually did homework or something if he hung around in the dance studio for Luke’s class, but today he just couldn’t concentrate. Sine waves were well beyond his grasp today, and even the most basic quadratic equations were out of the question, so Shane ended up lounging and playing a game on his phone—which he kept losing, as he couldn’t focus even for that—until the end of the class. Which he also missed, and was only alerted to when Luke walked up the shallow seats and slid down next to him on the cheap polished wood. “Are you alright?” Luke asked lowly as the girls filtered out, and Mrs. S. retreated to her office at the front of the studio with the stereo. Shane huffed a sigh. “Yeah,” he mumbled. “Uh-huh,” Luke said, and removed the phone. “And what about now?”
