Chapter Ten
The morning light is what wakes me up. As I slowly open my eyes, I realize there is a body in bed with me. I stiffen for a moment, suddenly afraid. I don’t remember who I let in last night.
When I turn my head, my sleep-fogged memory kicks in. Jon is asleep next to me. He is sleeping quietly. I admire the way his hair falls in his eyes and the stubble that lines his jaw. His chest rises and falls slowly. He is fast asleep, and I hate the thought of waking him up.
Even though we had tried so hard to stay away from each other – me pushing him away so I can get away from Rich and Jon dating Ayumi – we still ended up together like this. I want to be in a relationship with him but I cannot do so while I am still struggling to get Rich out of my life.
