Chapter Seven “What the f**k?” Marina hisses as she steps inside my apartment. “I know, I know,” I tell her, holding up my hands as to ward off her upcoming lecture. It doesn’t work. Marina eyes my cheek, which is swollen and a dark red. “No, Jenny, this is not okay. This is f****d up. This undercover plan you have going on – it needs to stop.” “It can’t,” I tell her. “I’m so close. I can feel it in my bones.” “He hit you! And you told me what he did to Sarah. What is stopping that from being his next step?” I run my fingers through my hair. I have a pre-production meeting at 2 P.M. today and am unsure how to work to cover up the mark on my cheek.
