"How could you do this, my king!? Does our daughter mean so little to you!?" Queen Petra cried, hitting on the table of the empty conference room her and the king stood in.
King Amos grinded his teeth, "Do not raise your voice at me, woman! I had to do what I had to do!"
"And accepting money and properties as compensation for our daughter's death was your best action!"
Amos frowned deeply, turning away from his wife to face the large floor-to-ceiling window that displayed the beautiful lands of his small kingdom.
He held a his hands behind his back, "You have to understand. Whether or not we like it or not, he is a vampire lord. A powerful pure blooded, at that. Persecuting him will arise to a never ending war between his kind and ours".
He narrowed his eyes to running children on the grass field. "And let us be honest with ourselves, we can not afford to go into such a brutal war. We all know the political and economical advancement of their kingdom over ours", he turned to his wife. "They will clear us with a single blow!"
"So letting them have their way by disregarding our daughter's death like nothing, is your best wall of defense!?"
Amos turned in anger, "How dare you! She was my one and only daughter and heir!"
"Then act like she was!!! Respect her death and fight for justice!"
Amos hissed, "You would never understand this, Petra, it is not all about sword, horses and warrior men! You need to think of the chances taken and the lives at stake! After all, killing the lord would not bring back our daughter..."
"But it would avenge her death! You weakling of a man!"
Amos furrowed his brows, "Shut up, you woman!"
"I will not! Not when you do not listen to the truth! If you had listened to my advice weeks ago and rejected that Lord's proposal for our daughter, she would still be alive!"
"You know very well that Amber loved and wanted to marry him! And I respected my daughter's wishes!"
"And look where it got us! She was nothing but a naïve child, yet you fulfilled her request and now she is dead!" Petra clutched her fist in anger, stepping closer to the king.
King Amos sighed, looking down as he tried to compose and swallow his emotions, so not to say something that would cause nothing but more conflict between him and his wife.
But Petra had her own plans. "Amos, I am sick and tired of your passive behaviour to everything and everyone! You lack the common dominance of a real man to stand and fight for your grounds! It is not all ab—"
"Now I have had enough of your nonsense, Petra!" He raised his hand in the air.
He pointed his index finger at her reddened angry face, "I will not let you stand there and insult me, you—"
"Excuse me, your majesty!" A guard walked in, cutting Amos from his words. Petra continued to scowl at him, ignoring the guard at the door.
Amos immediately softened his face, looking up at the guard. "What is it?" He kept his voice calm.
The guard bowed, "My king, royals from the Werleria kingdom are here to see you".
Petra immediately turned to the guard. "Werleria? Who?"
"The queen and princess of Werleria, my queen", he bowed.
Amos and Petra glanced at each other and back. Amos cleared his throat, "Have them wait in the guess hall, we will be down in a few minutes".
"Yes, my king".

"My deepest condolences, King Amos", Lyzebel bowed subtly, stirring her tea gently; as she was seated on a soft plush cushion chair.
Seated next to her was Lamia, sipping mannerly on her tea. She licked her lips, grimacing at the king and queen seated opposite them. "Oh your majesty, we can only imagine what you are going through", Lamia shook her head.
King Amos nodded sadly, "Thank you, Princess Lamia. We appreciate your care". Lamia smiled.
"Lovely, King Amos. Please, accept these gift", Lyzebel waved her hands, having her slave girls walk forward with boxes and bags full of jewelries, artifacts and precious gems.
She added, "Please take these as a form of support for the loss of your darling late Daughter, may her soul rest in peace".
"Amen, and thank you so much", Queen Petra nodded, preventing her swollen eyes from breaking into tears.
"Do not mention it", Lyzebel sipped her tea.
Amos then added, "We appreciate your kind gesture, greatly. Although I have to apologise for failing to do the same after the death of your husband, King Xeron".
Lyzebel waved her hand, "Oh do not bother. I do not judge you, I understand".
Amos smiled weakly, staring calmly at the sisters. Lyzebel then sighed, dropping her cup of tea on the stool next to her seat.
She rested back on her seat, crossing her legs majestically. "Although, king Amos, I am curious. Is it true that you accepted blood money as compensation for your daughter's death?"
Lamia placed her own teacup by the side, crossing her legs as well—letting part of her flesh above her knees show, displaying her long sexy legs. She smiled innocently at the king and his wife.
King Amos cleared his throat, nodding, "Um, Well, y– Yes".
"Woah, how generous of you. I have to say, I admire your self control, Amos. Not many kings can be as passive as you are. Hell, if I knew who was responsible for my husband's death, I'd have their head severed on the spot. But you, you took it lightly and even accepted thirty percent of their land, how generous of you, King Amos", Lyzebel gave a beautiful smile.
Amos smiled nervously, diverting his eyes to the side as he felt his wife's burning stare. He chuckled, "Well, sometime it is not all about revenge. Most vengeful actions have caused unnecessary endless wars between kingdoms and empires".
"Unnecessary!?" Lamia quirked her brows with a disbelieving expression.
Lyzebel chuckled, "Well, King Amos, I completely understand you, and I wish most royalties did as well".
He flashed her a smile, looking away.
Lyzebel grinned, glancing deviously at the fuming silent wife seated next to the king, that locked her stare on the floor. Lyzebel then cleared her throat, "Queen Petra?"
She looked up, "Huh? Yes?"
"I brought a special gift for you".
"Oh my, really? Thank you".
Lyzebel smirked, getting up from her seat and padding up to the pile of gift boxes her slave girls set by the window. As she halted in front of the window, she raised her eyes to the morning sky. She immediately spotted the black crow, flapping in her direction.
Pretending to be searching through the boxes for a specific gift, Lamia, on the other hand, initiated a casual conversation with the king and queen.
Meanwhile, a small crow perched on the window's edge. Lyzebel extended her index finger, allowing the little crow to land on it. She lifted the bird to her face, gently stroking its head while gazing into its distinctive white and blue eyes.
The crow stared back at her quietly, letting her read its eyes.
Her lips twitched into smirk. "Good", she whispered, nodding subtly. She pushed out her hand—the bird flew up and into the sky.
Lyzebel's smile faded. She reached into the generous sleeves of her royal coat, retrieving a small jewelry box adorned with precious gold and a gem. She opened it, gazing at the gold chain with a tiny ruby. Her eyes narrowed briefly as the ruby briefly sparkled and then returned to its usual state.
Lyzebel forced a smile, closing the jewelry box. Her eyes returned to their usual appearance as she turned and walked toward the queen's seat.
The queen looked up with a smile, watching Lyzebel stand behind her and unlock the jewelry box. "Oh my, queen Lyzebel, you don't have to".
"Nonsense, queen Petra, I insist".
Lyzebel picked out the chain, assisting the queen to push her wavey brown hair to the side, putting the chain around her neck. As Lyzebel locked the chain, she stepped away from queen Petra's seat and back to hers.
Queen Petra smiled, placing her fingers on the small dot ruby on the chain. She looked up at Lyzebel, "It is beautiful, thank you".
Lyzebel crossed her legs, smiling, "It is nothing, I am glad you like it".
Petra nodded, looking back down to admire the rare ruby. Her husband foolishly joined her to stare at the ruby.
Lyzebel and Lamia glanced at each other, carrying a devious grin on their face.
They then turned back at the old couple. "King Amos?" Lyzebel called.
"Yes?"
"I do not mean to pry but, I have a question to ask, if you don't mind of course".
