Chapter 3
Emelia’s POV
“Melisa made me reject my mate!!!, she successfully collected what belongs to me.”
“She has successfully taken my means of happiness and freedom again:”
“She is going to pay dearly for hurting my feelings this hard.”
I couldn’t breathe as all I could feel was pain.
“Mom!!!!!, you lied to me!!!!!, I was never a cute girl.”
“You were just lying to me so I can be happy.”
I sunk to the ground, tears streaming down my face.
“Calm down, Cutie,” my wolf said, nudging me affectionately with her calm, soothing voice.
But I refused to calm down as I was inconsolable, my heart heavy with grief. The pain of rejecting your mate whom you love is also the pain of getting rejected by your mate.
It felt like a blade in my chest.
My wolf wanted to protect me and she growled softly, insisting that my mate didn't deserve me.
“You have other things to do other than sitting here like a widowed wolf.”
“You have visited the hospital, so raise that ass up and get ready.” My wolf urged me with a cheering tone.
With a heavy sigh I closed my eyes, cursing my foolishness for daring to hope.
I know that my wolf was right, but the hurt was still there. Taking a deep breath, I nodded.
I would not succumb to despair, I whispered the promise to my wolf., and with a renewed sense of strength, I slowly stood up.
I walked slowly to my closet to pick up something that I will wear.
*******Few Minutes Later
I was already standing at the door of the pack’s doctor.
I gently placed a knock on the door and it was immediately open.
Immediately I saw his face, and I burst into another fresh round of tears.
“Are you okay Emelia? Don’t tell me you accidentally hurt yourself again.” He questioned me with a worried look and I nodded my head In silence.
I didn’t want to say much as I just wanted to get treated and leave.
*Few Minutes Later
“And that is all.” He said with a smile as he plastered the last scar on my knee.
“Thank you.” I mouthed as I climbed down from the chair.
I felt a little better.
I pick up my bag from the table and I walk out of the hospital slowly.
I wanted to order a cab but I don’t have a single penny with me so I will walk down home.
Thank the moon goddess that the pack’s Hospital wasn’t really far from my house.
I started walking slowly home.
After minutes of walking under the scorching hot sun, I finally got home.
Just as I entered through the house, I heard Melisa screaming.
I didn’t want to know what she was saying because it was of no use.
I tried so much to avoid what she was saying but my ears were saying an entirely different thing.
“I am not getting married to a cursed man, I will never do that.” I heard her say as she screamed at the top of her voice.
I opened the door quietly as I didn’t want to make myself seen. I really don’t have the strength for any bantering so I have to avoid it at all times.
But it seems luck wasn’t on my side.
Just as I took a step, Melisa stopped whatever she was saying and turned around to see who it was.
She rushed to where I was with happiness.
“Where have you been, best sister?” She asked in excitement and I was dumbfounded trying to understand if it was the same Melisa that was hitting me a few hours ago.
She gave a wide smile and truth to tell, I have never seen Melisa with that kind of smile.
She was filled with happiness and I was left wondering if it was the same Melisa I knew.
“So sissy!!, do you want to get married so badly?” She questioned me.
“I had rejected my mate, the only one I can get mated to.” I answered her with a confused look.
“It is not Gerald, sissy; Gerald isn't worth your time.”
“It is someone more powerful and fearful.”
“He is the brother of the most powerful pack– Blood Moon Pack.” She giggled like a maniac.
I tried recalling back to when I entered the house and I heard Melissa saying he was cursed.
“You really want to get away from my torment, right?”
“All you have to do is to marry him, you are going to be free from me.” She exclaimed.
I knew so well that something was fishy.
Melissa stated earlier that he was cursed. She knew that getting married to the Alpha wasn’t a good thing, that was why she wanted me to get married to him.
She doesn’t want anything good for me.
She was supposed to be the one to get married to him but she is shifting it to me.
That is who she is, shifting her misfortunes to me.
“I am sorry if this will hurt you, but I’m not interested in getting married to him.” I politely said to her and she pushed me to the floor.
“You must marry Stefan whether you want to or not, you don’t have any right to make decisions.” She threatened.
I stood up with fear and rushed to my room as I locked the door.
She ran after me, but I was lucky enough to close the door before she could enter.
Melissa pounded her fist on my bedroom door, shouting curses and demanding that I open it.
Every muscle in my body was tense, my heart pounding like a drum.
I could feel the rage bubbling up inside of Melissa as she cussed me, but no matter what she said, I had to stay in control and leave the door locked or things would only get worse.
With a deep breath, I opened my bag, took my phone, and was about to call my dad.
I changed my mind and decided to wait for him until he comes. It would be better to talk to him in person than call him.
He is a very busy person since he is the beta of the pack, so I don’t even bother him for anything; I always keep things within myself, but this time around, I can’t.
