“Call Lavender Ravens to see me now!” Damon ordered Hilgers with his stern, husky voice.
"Now?"
"Yes, don't you get it?" He scolded him, who seemed doubtful about his order. Hilgers looked uneasy. As Damon turned to him, scrutinizing his eyes.
"What's wrong with you? Shouldn't you be happy about me finding my mate?" Damon commented. Hilgers grinned oddly, then glanced into something else in the room. He found it uncomfortable to talk about the issues.
"I'm sorry I have to tell you this, Alpha. But, since you pronounced your mate last night, I've got bad news," Hilgers explained. Damon frowned suspiciously.
"Was it about that f*****g Anthony?" Damon guessed sarcastically.
"Not only about that. The elder must find out about your chosen mate, and they disagree with that,"
"What!" Damon shrieked shockingly, then instantly stood from his chair. Hilgers gulped his nervous saliva and then grinned awkwardly.
"Uhm, one of them said that they have to talk to you about it," Damon growled at his beta, immediately making him quit talking. He should not report it to Damon to see his response now.
"I said, you have a lot of work, so I should reschedule a few things to manage." Hilgers was on the verge of his sanity now. If Damon had thrown his tantrum at him, he would be dead today. Hence, Damon scrutinizes his piercing gaze up to Hilgers. He would never change the plan.
"Tell them to f**k off my business. I don't deal with the elders!" Damon shoved his disrespected mouth.
“Call her now!” he growled more. Hilgers no choice but to nod. He stepped out looking for a design manager to discuss. Lavender was summoned to a meeting room near the CEOs in a moment.
When she stepped inside, she gasped. No one was in the room, and Lavender had no idea why she was there. She thought that there was a meeting about their work.
“Are we going to have a meeting?” Lavender asked her manager.
“Wait here. The CEO wants to see you.” The manager left immediately. In contrast, Lavender was shockingly watching her go. She barely spoke to protest. Now, she could not move. She stood there with a pale expression, ready to die.
"Oh my God. Help me, Father in heaven," Lavender quietly prayed. She was so scared now. The door in her opposite direction opened, and Lavender held her breath as she saw Damon come.
It was as if Damon did not blink when he stared at Lavender. They were still in a small room with an 80-inch table and some chairs that separated them. Damon then stepped forward to her, and Lavender unknowingly stepped backward. He stopped after he had a few feet from her.
"Why did you step back?" Damon half growled stiffly to Lavender. Lavender looked so nervous. She rolled her alluring eyes to see elsewhere rather than answer his question.
"Hey, I'm talking to you!" Damon scolded her. Lavender gulped her saliva and then shook her head.
"I'm sorry, Sir. I'm not. Uhm, I mean,"
"Come here!" Damon pulled Lavender's wrist quickly before she finished her words. He seemed like a possessive man, which Lavender hated very much. She was too shocked to pull her hand back. Moreover, Damon is also her big boss, unfortunately.
Lavender gasped in shock when he brought her out of the room. He said nothing when he dragged her to his room. Meanwhile, Damon did not glance at her at all. He kept grasping her wrist. Lavender was praying a lot. She clutched her heart, asking for a way out because Damon had scared her so much with his act.
"What will happen to me? God, please help me!"
Damon did not care about eyes watching him dragging a new staff to his office. Even his secretary frowned to see him. He half-shoved Lavender emotionlessly to face him. Lavender now froze when she stared at him.
"I want you to choose your wedding dress design," Damon commanded Lavender. Lavender frowned and shook her forehead.
"No," she murmured to him.
"Then, take my choice of design," Damon insisted. He stepped to his desk to take a tablet. He showed her some dress designs, but she still stared at him with fear. Somehow, the bad dream lingered back in her mind.
"I think you misunderstood me, Sir. I'm not marrying you." Lavender quickly shot her answer through her fear of him.
Damon slowly widened his eyes. His stare shot openly at Lavender. Inside, she felt the creepiness running through her. Goosebumps shivered down her nape to the back. He seemed not to have taken her rejection.
"What did you say?" Damon sounded sarcastic. Lavender shook her head when she added her reply. She took a deep breath to console herself. Her problems would not go away if she did not brave. Therefore, she gathered her courage to oppose him.
“I think there was a misunderstanding between us, Sir. I’m not going to marry. Your problem is with my aunt, not me," Lavender boldly spoke, addressing the situation from last night. She had no idea how to talk to him.
"There's no misunderstanding. It is clear that you are my future mate," Damon arrogantly replied with his rising chip, looking down at her.
"What do you mean? No, I rejected it,"
"What? Are you rejecting me?" Damon curtly cut her words with a stern glare. Not only did he almost bust in anger, but he could not believe the woman denied him. Lavender nodded, which made him glare more. He looked so angry now that he could destroy everything in the room.
"You are not allowed to reject me! How dare you say so!" Damon growled at Lavender. Lavender widened her eyes shockingly.
"Sir,"
"I chose you to be my mate, and there's no room for discussion. We are going to get married soon!" Damon was getting more tense rather than having a calm talk with Lavender. At the same time, she was getting pissed, making an argument against him.
"I don't want to get married now!" Lavender yelled. As Damon glared, he pulled and jerked her into him. He clutched her arms, flaring the madness of her rejection.
"There's no creature in this world that can reject me. Not even a mortal like you!" he snarled with his eyes shot openly at her. Lavender shivered and froze in fear. As she saw the dream turn into reality, Damon changed into a beast. She could not think when Damon suddenly clutched her jaw. He growled and suddenly lowered to bite Lavender’s neck.
