Episode 9: Encounter with Cynthia

(Veronica POV)
"Please somebody help!" The person cried in a louder voice now.
"Lily! What are you thinking?" Please come with me. We should help the person.
"Ronnie, They are the infamous bullies of our college, don't mess with them. I request you please don't. I will help but you have to go home first". She said cautiously.
"What?? Why can't I help the person?" I Asked her in disbelief. My friend wants me gone in this hour of need. How is this possible?
"Look Ronnie, Don't get me wrong I just want your safety because your wolf has not appeared yet and you have no physical training so how can you fight…?" She said in a low voice but my anger started bubbling. I can't think that my friend wants me to leave a person in misery and run like a coward. I will face it like a warrior.
"I am going to help the person either you come with me or i do it alone, I don't care" I announced and started moving towards the crowd. Lily joined me after stomping her foot like an angry child.
I was shocked with the scene in front of me. Some girls are sitting in a kneeling position with their hands behind their head and some boys or so called bullies of the college are standing and calling them with names and ordering them to slap on their faces because of which their faces look swollen. My anger shot up.
"Hey! You coward punks leave them alone" I almost shouted at them.
"Ahaan, looks like we have a new chick in our college" one with blonde hair and grey piercing eyes said. All of them start looking towards me. I stood confidently in front of them.
"Well, we leave all of them but you have to kiss me on the lips in front of the whole college chick" Another one with dusty brown hairs and green eyes said. He looks like the leader of the bullies and tied his hairs in a band which gave a bad boy of the college look to him.
"In your dreams moron" I spat these words on his face.
He look amused instead of angry and co*ked an eyebrow and gave a devilish smirk.
"Ok, looks like i have to take my kiss by force" He said and started walking towards me. Fear crept in my body but I remained still at my place.
He stopped just an inch away from me and started tilting her head to kiss me but before I realized I slapped him hard.
Voice of slap echoed in all the hallways and everybody stopped laughing, cheering and chattering and it looked like they held their breaths.
I timidly look towards lily who is already looking towards me with wide eyes like I am some kind of ghost.
Before I could react I bumped into the pillar and the leader started choking me.
"HOW DARE YOU!!! YOU SLAPPED ME??? I WILL KILL YOU b***h" He shouted with so much anger that his veins start bulging in his forehead.
I started struggling for air but his grip was so strong that I thought for a second that I would die in the next moment but suddenly his weight lifted away from me and he staggered and bumped into the wall behind me. I start taking long breaths that my lungs start burning with so much oxygen.
When I looked towards my savior it was no other than lily. Lily starts fighting with all of them but they are six and lily is alone. Soon they overpowered her. I shouted for help but nobody came near to help us. I looked at them with angry eyes. how can they be so heartless?
Suddenly, Two boys came running towards us and started fighting with them and thank god they saved lily but between their fight one person kicked me on my lower back due to which my head banged with the wall and my nose started bleeding and i became unconscious.
(Lily POV)
When Ronnie banged her head with the wall I felt my whole universe collapsed. I run towards her and start patting on her Cheek so she gains consciousness but she remains still. Tears welled in my eyes. This all happened because of me because I failed to protect her.
"Ronnie! Please open your eyes, please!!! " I start sobbing.
"I think we should take her to the hospital" A girl who was bullied by the bad boys a few moments ago.
I nodded and picked her up and started walking towards the parking lot. The boys who helped us joined us in the car.
I rushed towards the hospital and reached the minimum time possible. One boy picked her up and laid her on the bed. Doctor instructed us to remain outside and take her in the room.
"Hey! You have to be brave because she needs you at this time. If you show any weakness in front of your friend her condition becomes more vulnerable". I wiped my tears
"I am sorry I forgot to thank you. Thank you so much for helping us". I said wholeheartedly .
"Please don't thank us. It's just our duty as human being" one of them said shyly.
"Well I am Adrian and I am in my 2nd year of Masters in Fashion designing. I thought because of the situation we forgot our formal introductions" He said in a cheery voice.
"I am William and I am also in 2nd year but interested in business so that is why I am doing a Masters in Business and finance". I shake hands with both of them.
"I am Lily and I am in freshman's year of Psychology. She is my friend Veronica in the room and She is also in Freshman's year of fashion designing".I also give a brief introduction of both of us.
"What is your name, girl?" I asked the girl who is so quiet that I think for a second that she is mute.
"I… I am Cynthia. I am also in freshman year and I am studying social work" she said in a cautious tone.
"Great, Listen, you don't have to be afraid of us. Friends? " I said with my hand extended towards her which she held hesitantly.
Doctor opened the door and came toward us. We all stood up and asked him about the condition of Veronica. Well thank god there is no major injury but she is still weak and needs bed rest at least for a week.
"Can I see her?" I asked impatiently.
"Yes, you can but she needs rest and that's why you have to keep your conversation short". Doctor instructed in a professional voice and I nodded my head in agreement and opened the door of her room.
When I saw her tears welled in my eyes and I ran toward her.
