  LUKE   As I follow the receptionist through the double doors, I pause to look back at Kat, and she is in deep conversation with her father. Her face is flushed, and she is refusing to meet his gaze. She is playing with her hair, sweeping it over her neck, trying to hide the mark I left on her last night. I hope her father isn't berating her for my actions. I know I shouldn't done it, but I couldn't help but lay a little claim to her. I want people to know she is mine, even though I have not marked her yet.   The receptionist's high-heeled shoes click loudly on the floor as she leads me toward Kat's mother's room. The sound echoes through the quiet halls, but it only serves to heighten my anxiety. I have never met a girl's parents before, and so far, her father isn't too happy with me
