“Hope!” Angela came running down the stairs, Harper right behind her, and the two of them threw themselves at me, almost making me lose my balance. I managed to stay standing, and we all hugged each other tightly while our mates gathered around us.
“You’re okay!”
Tears flowed freely as we embraced, overwhelmed with happiness at being together again. However, Phoenix soon pulled me back into his arms.
He couldn’t bear to have me even an inch away from him for too long. It would likely take a considerable amount of time and patience to return him to his normal state. Perhaps it would take time for both of us.
“What happened?” Hunter asked.
“We need to talk,” Phoenix said.
Hunter looked at him with confusion. “Why?”
“Because we’re not the only ones who came back.”
