Suddenly the sound of someone clearing their throat cut through the air and pulled me out of my sorrow with a jolt. I looked up quickly and looked around the room that I’d sought refuge in. I was in an office lined with bookshelves that were cluttered with old tombs. I sniffed the air and wallowed in the scent of the paper and dust that formed on some of the thick bound books. “What are you doing in here?” the familiar voice asked. I looked towards where the voice came from and saw Eli sitting at a handmade oak desk, there were leather-bound books piled high and thick sheets of paper scattered about.
