I woke up to my phone ringing.
Urghh...what was it now?
I hadn't wanted to wake up from the peaceful sleep I had been enjoying. I opened my eyes just as the phone stopped ringing and was immediately aware of the warm body pressed against me.
I blinked to clear the sleep away from my eyes as I stared at Ann, who slept sweetly, in my arms. Her hair had covered her face in a messy way that was funny and scary at the same time. So I carefully used my forefinger to slide the mass of dark brown hair away, revealing the beautiful face underneath.
I couldn't hold back.
I placed a kiss on her forehead.
She didn't even so much as stir. She was that exhausted, making me chuckle within myself. I wanted to stay here forever, with her in my arms. She looked really peaceful as she slept.
