The boys actually meant business when they said that they wanted to make amends. I had gotten home around three o’clock pm, and right after I’d changed clothes, I’d headed downstairs to help Lucinda and her granddaughter in the kitchen. The older woman had tried to protest once again, but when Luna Avery had joined us and assured her that it was okay if I wanted to help, she had dropped it. Honestly, it had been quite easy getting along with all three of them. It had almost felt as though I’d known them for all my life, and something about that had felt so comforting. When the food was ready and all done, I’d feigned a headache and asked to retire to my room, not really ready to join the Luna and her husband and the twins and whoever they decided would join them today for dinner… and
