Chapter 1 - The call
LILLIAN POV
“I can't wait to get out of this stress. I'm tired, and my feet are numb,” Nina uttered, a tired look on her face as we both stepped out of class.
We had just written our last paper, and we were heading to the cafeteria when my phone rang, and a smile appeared on my face when I saw the caller's ID.
It was Derick, my boyfriend. We have been dating for six months now and he has been the best gift since this year.
He was my happiness and he was the reason I looked forward to ending college soon. I was looking forward to spending the rest of my life with him.
Hi babe," I uttered, grinning from ear to ear as I placed the phone on my ears.
" Hey, baby. How are you? "
"I'm good," I replied with a broad smile on my face.
"Okay," he said and he suddenly went mute. I was waiting for him to speak but his end was quiet.
This was very strange and hadn't happened before. Whenever Derick called, he was always the one to do the talking, and he was never quiet for more than thirty seconds whenever we were on the phone talking.
Each second that passed made me worried. "Are you still there, baby?" I asked worriedly, taking the phone off my ears to take a look at it, and I discovered the call hadn't ended.
"Yes, yes I am." His reply was quick and I could sense something was wrong.
"Is anything the matter? You seem off and_"
" Lillian I want us to end whatever we have with each other." Derick words suddenly made my body stiff.
"What are you saying, babe? What do you mean?" I asked panic etched in my voice.
" I'm sorry, Lillian, but I can't be with you anymore. It's over" Those were his last words before he hung up on me.
I didn't know I was tearing up until Nina ran up to me looking all worried.
"Lillian, are you all right? Why are you sobbing?" Nina asked, concern evident on her face.
"It's Derick. He just broke up with me" I stammered, trying to control myself as I sobbed even more and she quickly wrapped her hands around me tightly, giving me a comforting hug
“No, I won't allow this,” I uttered sadly, my voice trembling as I broke the hug and shook my head from side to side in disagreement.
“Allow what?” Nina asked, worry etched on her face as deep lines appeared on her forehead.
“Derick can't just break up with me like this. There has to be something I might have done. He needs to explain to me what I did and why he was breaking up,” I uttered and started walking away from Nina, my thoughts on Derick.
“Where are you going?” Nina asked, walking closely behind me.
“To dericks house” I replied without sparing her a glance.

I barged into Derisk’s room, and my heart sank at the sight in front of me. There my best friend was, sitting and riding hard on Derick's c**k.
I didn't know what to think or do. I just stood still, processing all I was seeing and praying it was all a dream.
“Ahh f**k, yes Cassie like that,” Derick moaned, his deep sharp voice echoing in the room as his hand held Cassandra's waist tightly.
“Derick!” I yelled, attracting their gaze to me, and they instantly separated from each other and stared at me in shock.
“Lillian,” Cassandra called out, her voice trembling and filled with shock, “How long have you been here? It's not what you think Lillian. I can explain please just listen to_”
“Shut the f**k up” I yelled, glaring at her while my heart divided into two. I didn't even know what to say, but I knew that I didn't want to hear any of them speak.
The room reeked of the smell of sweat and s*x. If anyone had ever told me that my boyfriend was going to cheat on me with my best friend, then I would have sworn that the person was crazy.
“What are you doing here?” Derick asked, his voice devoid of any emotion as he stared coldly at me.
“Is this why you broke up with me?” I asked, trying to hold back the tears that were threatening to fall.
“It's part of it but that doesn't give you the right to barge into my room. You seem to forget that I'm not the only male staying in this apartment,” Derick said, and the tears fell freely down my cheeks.
He was right. I was wrong for just barging into the apartment like this. Derick shared this four-bedroom apartment with three other guys who I really wouldn't call his friends
“Lillian, I can explain. I was just_”
“Seeing how deep you could take his c**k inside you right? There's no need to explain Cassandra. I get it. I understand everything now. You're nothing but a snitch and a bloody liar” I said, glaring at her while tears rolled down my cheeks.
“Don't you dare talk to me in such a manner,” Cassandra warned, raising her hand in the air and pointing her Index finger at me, and that pissed me off.
I rushed toward her and landed a resounding slap on her right cheek. “How dare you? You're_” I didn't let her finish talking as I landed another slap on her left cheek.
“That's enough,” Derick yelled, rushing to where I was and standing naked in front of me as he held my hand tightly and glared at me. “Get out,” he said, then dropped my hand harshly.
I looked at his blue eyes, the same blue eyes I loved staring at and all I saw was hatred and coldness.
With anger and pain in my heart, I raised my hand in the air and landed it on his cheeks. “I hate you,” I said, then walked away, more tears flowing down my cheeks as I rushed out of the Derick's house.
