Diana gazed out her window, the cracks in it only showing the lights of the festival that was far off. For the first few nights, Diana had eagerly joined in the festivities, immersing herself in the joyous atmosphere. Yet, as the sun dipped below the horizon on the third night, she found herself unable to shake the sense of unease that had settled over her like a heavy cloak. The ringing in her ears grew more insistent, a constant reminder of something lurking just beyond her grasp. She curled up in her bed. Mere hours earlier, she had convinced Lila and Merea that it was okay to leave her behind and enjoy the festival. But as the hours stretched on, sleep eluded her. The ringing in her ears grew louder, accompanied now by a crushing pressure in her chest that made each breath a struggle.
