He told it to shut the f**k up. Brock turned off the engine, sighed and stepped down onto the asphalt. He hoped Hal wouldn’t be too sore with him for leaving the previous night without paying his tab. “Hey, Hal,” Brock greeted him on entering the dimly lit bar. The place was filling up with folks coming in for a drink after work. Brock had hoped to pull Hal aside to ask about his tab; he didn’t want the whole town hearing he owed money.
