“I understand,” Crisa said, “and I am sure that I shall be able to transcribe them for you, so long as you don’t go too fast.” He did not speak and she continued, “If I take what you say down roughly in pencil, then afterwards I can write it out neatly in ink and read it back to you, so that you can make any corrections.” “That sounds to me excellent,” Mr. Thorpe said. “Have you anything to write on?” “I am afraid not,” Crisa replied. “I-I was not expecting to – work when I came aboard.” “Then you must forgive me for interrupting what I am sure is a holiday,” Mr. Thorpe said.
