CHAPTER FIVETamara rode into the stable yard with Kadine at her side. They had been in the Park together and Kadine was now allowed to ride without a leading rein, as she had a pony of her own. It was a nice quiet animal and a little bigger than the one that Abbey had found for Vava. Kadine enjoyed riding, but she was not adventurous like Sándor or obsessed with it like Vava. “You rode very well, darling,” Tamara told her. Kadine smiled at her, looking so pretty as she did so, that Tamara thought again how irresistible she would be when she grew up. Old Abbey and Vava were outside the pony’s stall.
