It was dark when the materializer beam released them. A nearby streetlamp cast an amber glow over the alley where Nick now stood. Looking over his shoulder, he saw Siren, Gears, and Bones standing behind him. At least he hoped they were. The VR projection field surrounding them gave them the appearance of Ferosians. Their own mothers wouldn’t recognize them. This is gonna take some getting used to.
Siren had opted for the Malloran look, while Bones and Gears appeared to be Rocha. Nick’s outward appearance was Cretak. Before he’d transported to the surface, he had checked out his enhanced appearance in the mirror in his quarters. The angular face and strong chin the VR image projection field gave him was pleasant to his eye
