I woke up to a delicious smell filling the air. I looked over and saw Navarro already cooking something over the fire. He must have gone out early and hunted something for breakfast. I was surprised I hadn’t heard him rustling around all morning. “Good morning, sunshine,” Navarro said. There was a pep in his voice I wasn’t used to. I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes and slowly sat up. “How long have you been awake?” “Long enough. We have a long day ahead of us if we are going to stay on track for the day. I figured I could get us some food.” He returned to cooking the small animals he had gathered on his hunt. I stretched, trying to wake my body up. I wasn’t used to sleeping on the rough ground still, so my body felt extremely stiff. I looked up into the sky, seeing it was covered in c
