Just outside of the town of Rothsburg, Navarro slowed the horse down until we came to a stop. There was just a sliver of light left in the sky, but it was enough for us to find an inn before dark. “We’ll have to walk from here,” Navarro said. “The horse will draw too much attention to us, and that’s the last thing we need right now.” Navarro slipped off the horse and then helped me down, setting me on the ground slowly. His fingers lingered on my hips for longer than they should have, but I wanted them to continue lingering for longer. “What are we going to do with the horse?” I asked.
