The town of Folla was completely still as we walked through the empty streets. The only light guiding our path was that of the waning moon. This town was completely different compared to the last one we were at. The other town never seemed to sleep as people partied and indulged in pleasures throughout the night. Here, there wasn’t a single wandering soul awake, except us.
Xe led us to the inn and brought us through the back. They slipped off their shoes as they opened the door and put a finger over their mouth. Navarro and I followed their actions, taking off our own shoes. Xe tiptoed through the small hallway, moving with more care and effort than I thought capable with their bouncy nature. As we reached the common room, Xe stepped on a particularly creaky plank and froze.
