Heavy warmth. Simon opened his eyes slowly. Kelly’s sleeping body was not so much snuggled against him as draped halfway over the top of him, pressing Simon’s chest and belly firmly against the mattress. Kelly’s chest was to his back, one leg crooked across the back of Simon’s thighs, an arm wound around his torso. Simon lay immobile, just feeling the soft gust of Kelly’s breathing across his shoulder. It had been quite a while since he’d woken up with someone in his bed. That last one had been an old grad school “friend with benefits” sometime early last summer. He never would have predicted the next person would be Kelly Hendricks.
