I don't know what came over me..one minute I was trying to cool myself down in the kitchen and the next I blurted out the secret I was trying so hard to contain until the right moment. What shocked me the most was Uncle Jack's overreaction and my dad's lack of one altogether.
"Did you know about this?" My uncle pointed to Carson, his voice hostile and full of accusation.
"I..I.." Carson began, his eyes wide as he couldn't form a single word beyond "I".
"Jack, calm down. Even if he did know, it was Em's right to be the one to tell us." My dad chimed in, putting his hand on Carson's shoulder in a comforting motion, calming him immediately.
