Scylla was staring at her laptop, teary-eyed. She can't believe someone messaged her on LinkedIn, inviting her for the interview tonight.
It was so soon but she can't turn it down. She was hunting for weeks now and she got none, no one invites her for an interview until Erin suggested her create a LinkedIn account, sort of online resume.
Erin was her kind cousin, she accepted Scylla while she was looking for work.
She understands why no one calls her yet for an interview, her only experience related was her internship five years ago. After that, she lived in the countryside after her father died and to take care of her sick mother, who now rests in peace.
"This is it, mom! I will now fulfill your wish."
She entirely gave up her future career for her family, she can't afford that time to hire a nurse for her mother so she took charge. She left for good, the city is expensive.
Of course, she was wondering how he was. She knew she was long forgotten. She left him without goodbye because it hurt her so much.
"Please tell me, you got good news." Erin barged into her room.
"Yes, Erin. Yes! I was invited for an interview tonight!" She exclaimed.
"Tonight? As in hours from now? So eager of the company to hire you." Erin commented as she chuckled.
"I'm hoping, I will be hired as you said," Scylla said nervously.
"Of course, you are! You are Scylla Grace! From your name itself." Erin grinned and very confident that she will get it.
"And so are you!" She grinned back.
"I will help you pick your attire." Erin winked and scanned her closet, not much to choose from.
"My goodness, you better go shopping on your first paycheck," Erin commented.
"Wait for me, I'll search mine and we will make this interview a memorable night. You must look beautiful it is woman's best weapon, trust me." Erin said and left her room.
She stared once again on her monitor, making sure it was really there and it was not a dream.

Scylla was so pleased and contented of Erin's concept of her attire. It was a white button long sleeve and a pencil skirt cut on the side. She finds it sexy as she was staring herself in the mirror. She paired it with three-inched high heels, Erin said it will add the sexiness vibes.
She looks like an executive assistant without the planner yet.
She applied a little amount of makeup to give her face some color. She smiled at her appearance, she then whisked her all-time favorite perfume, the thing she won't miss on every occasion.
"My god, Scylla you look so good!" Erin complimented.
"Thank you, that adds confidence."
"Trust me Scylla, it will turn out good. This is your lucky night." Erin smiled at her.
She was hoping, it will all come true. Erin was so sure of the good result after the night and she really wished with all her heart that it will.
"You should go, traffic is so bad in The Fort plus it is Friday night," Erin said and checked Scylla from head to toe once more.
"And take this with you, you can't be bad breath." Erin teased as she handed Scylla a bottle of a tic-tac.
"You are so funny!" Scylla said.
"Who knows, you will kiss someone tonight!" Erin talked about the impossible.
"I better go, Erin."
"You can't be driving, dear. Looking for parking will eat your time, please book an Uber." Erin suggested.
"I did. You forgot I don't have a car." Scylla said laughing.
"I'm sorry, I don't mean to remind you of that!"
"It's the truth. My driver is here, wish me luck." Scylla said balancing herself with the heels.
"Wishing you luck!"

Erin was right, The Fort was so crowded. The streets were jampacked with cars, street signals were corner to corner.
In four meters, turn right. It was the Waze app.
"Ma'am are you in a hurry? We will reach the destination, fifteen minutes from now." Her Uber driver talked for the first time on their trip.
"It's okay, I still have lots of time." She answered as she chewed some tic-tac.
"We could reach NetPark in five, if we were not caught in this traffic plus the party-goers are everywhere." The driver tried to converse with her, to ease the boredom of the trip.
Her driver told her history of the place, on how it grows for the past five years. She was not really familiar with The Fort, she was in the next city.
You arrive at your destination.
"We are here Ma'am, good luck in your interview."
"Thank you, Ryan, nice talking to you."
She reminded herself to rate him five stars after the trip.

Scylla can feel her limbs about to cripple, it is her first, after five years in a corporate world. Scylla straightened her pencil skirt again as she was approaching the reception area.
"Hi, I'm Scylla Grace."
"Hi Ms. Scylla, good evening! I am glad you made it tonight." The admin said with a smile.
Of course, they are notified of her arrival.
"I'm here for an interview, is there anything you need from me?" Scylla said before the admin will ask her.
"We are good, Ms. Scylla. You can proceed directly to the penthouse."
"Penthouse? You might be wrong, the email said on the seventh floor."
"Let me double-check." As the admin looked at her monitor.
"Ms. Scylla, it is really in the penthouse. I guess there was a change of venue for your interview."
"Alright, I'll go up, then," Scylla said with a smile.
She has thirty minutes left.
She heard the woman call someone telling her arrival as she left the reception area.
Her heart beats fast knowing that the person who will interview her is already waiting for her. The pings of every floor almost deafened her ears plus the beating of her own heart.
She inhaled and exhaled. The elevator stopped and the word 'P' in red was blinking and she stepped out.
"I can do this." Forming her hands into a fist.
The glass door in the penthouse slid open sensing someone was there.
Scylla was welcomed by silence.
"Hello?" She said looking for someone who is waiting for her.
She doesn't want to wander around the room but she didn't know what to do as well. She decided to look for a seat at least and wait for the person.
She then walked when the sliding glass door opened. Her instant action is to turn back and greeted that person...
"Scylla." Said the deep voice, very manly to be exact and of course it was very familiar to her.
She will not forget his voice, she immediately faced him even if she was still shocked.
"Zachary Anderson." Her own mouth mumbled while staring at him.
There was a sudden force pushing her to hug him very tight but his seen anger stopped her.
Of course, he has the right to be angry with her.
Will it still be, her lucky night?
