Scylla didn't dare to face him so he approached her, they are now facing each other. Zach was looking at her, she felt like she was a piece of ice ready to melt by his hot stare. "I don't care anymore for this interview." She whispered not looking at his face. "You believe it is an interview?" Zach chuckled. It is not a happy one, but more on mocking her. She was inside the trap created by this man. If she just knew it was him, the company she worked before. Oh, why would someone so eager to invite her for this interview and in the late notice? By that, she should have sensed it but she did not because she was excited that finally, she has the chance for a job. "I get it now."She said, still in a whisper. Zach chuckled again, how she wished it is because of happiness and not by mocking her. "I waited for this time to come, Scylla," Zach said studying her face. Zach tried to hide his fascination. The woman in front of him became more beautiful. "Zach, I don't know where to start and I know, sorry is not enough for all of these," Scylla said trying to hide her shaky voice as her limbs started to shake now. His stare was too much for her. "I don't need your sorry. Sorry doesn't fix anything that was broken, if it is, then no shattered hearts in this world." His words stabbed her, it was deep. He clearly belonged to the shattered ones. "Now, tell me Scylla. Give me an acceptable reason for all of these." He demanded with rage.  He didn't try to hide it. He wants her to show the intensity of his anger and because of that, she wanted to vanish and hide away from his wrath. "I'm sorry, Zach." She said and her legs finally gave in.  She wobbled and he caught her before she will land her butt, flat on the floor. Their sudden closeness electrified and attract two bodies like an opposite pole. One who is weak enough to lean on the strong one. Zach doesn't like his reaction to their nearness. It will destroy his plan if it continues, so he deposited her back on her seat earlier before he will forget everything and takes her between his arms, again. He closed his eyes and breathe, only her scent lingers on him, touched his nostrils and not helping him the battle inside of him. He opened his eyes and saw her hands on her chest, in which a ring caught his eyes in one of her fingers. He didn't think she is a married woman already. Right, how could he not think of the possibility? Scylla is a beautiful woman, it was impossible for men not to notice her and that rages him more. He looked at the ring intently and that's when he realized it was the same as what he is wearing, their promise ring. He looked at her with disbelief. Why is she still wearing that ring? He gave it to her as the promise of their love, does it means, she still loves him? She did not leave him for the first place if she does. His deep thought. Scylla noticed Zach was staring at her and then she remembers the ring that she never takes off the moment Zach gave it to her. She was about to hide her hand where the ring is but Zach got a hold of her arm. "No, don't." She begged. "I need to confirm something," Zach said making her blushed. How on earth, did she not remember to remove it earlier? The truth, she is not complete without it. It represents Zach, her love for him. "I'm married!" She blurted out making his jaw tightened. She instantly regretted her lies. Somehow, she wanted to admit that she still honor their promise of love even she left him. Somehow, she wanted to tell him that she still loves him but she can't. She already hurt him and she can't afford to hurt him over and over. Letting go of him will free him from five years of agony, this night will be their closure to finally cut the slightest string even if it sends her to die of heartache. She was unfair and she will be doing good favor for him, for his sake. She was thankful this time after all, that this night had happened. "Why are you hiding it?" He was still curious to check the ring. "Because it's not anymore for you to see." She said but Zach yanked her arm without her permission. He was now studying both rings, his and hers. "You lied." He said. "You still wear yours?" She asked at the same time, she was surprised. Scylla can't believe he's wearing the ring. There was a sudden hope within her heart, how can she act that way when she just resolved to cut the thin string left for them? How can she think of a possibility that they can still fix everything? And her last resort was to go with the flow. How this night will go because she still believes that this night is a lucky night for her.
