The Blood Boils

Carmelia and Santi gaze at his immense presence, the sight of what they believe, the one true king! “You are the one! Dear! My love look! He bears the stone,” Carmelia said. “It’s you! You are the king! The bearer of immortality and strength. The life that is deemed worthy by God to lead us common folks,” Santi said in a loud and confident voice. The sixteen-year-old boy Silva let out a hint of contempt as he rested himself near the toppled caravan. This fools again with their delusion, this guy is definitely bad news. I'd be blind if I didn’t think he’s a devil. He was probably the one who let this wild beast to us and claimed himself as a hero, he thought. “I’m not your king, I’m afraid. This stone isn’t even mine,” Gray said. “Look, take a look!” Carmelia said. She procures from her pouch a sketch of a stone identical to the one Gray is wearing. She placed the drawing side by side to the stone whereas she confirmed her suspicion. “The heart stone of evigt liv and styrka that could bring the owner back to life if the stone deemed it worthy to be the ruler, to have the strength to be the king. You have it in you! I have never seen you before nor this stone upfront yet with her help, I could understand,” Carmelia said. “It’s not even mine. It was given to me by someone, a very kind and wise person,” Gray said. “I have a premonition, I’m not sure if it happens when I sleep, in my dream, or I don’t know. But she talks to me in lots of different ways. She somehow knew this would happen. The bear that assaulted us, she said my son will die, and my dear husband will die. I would survive despite all that and be left alone,” Carmelia explained. “Listen, I would love to talk with you more. But my friend Boris didn’t know where I had gone and she’s not exactly likable to humans and – heavy, I couldn’t bring her here can I, I reckon you don’t want to see another — nevermind that, I need to go, Carmelia,” Gray said. ‘Good Galiet, you know what these humans gave to you? Just pure sorrow, tragedy and sadness. Let them be!’ Rassa said in his mind. Santi squeezed into the conversation as he asked Gray. “Is there anything we can do for you? Do you need anything? Do you want something? I have various stuff that I plan to sell in the Masse Village. Foods, Elegant amulets, potions personally made by my dear wife, talismans that I blessed and prayed all month and would ensure you years of good luck,” Santi said. “Your item just lost its credibility,” Gray said. “What?” Santi asked. The old man, Santi stands enthusiastically as he waits for Gray's response who he already thinks highly of, upon saving him and his family from the ravage bear attack. “Nothing, I think I’ll go with the cloudberries. It has some sweet memories for me…” at that moment where he reminisced about Amelia, only to dismiss his thought and continued to speak. “And my friend would very much like it,” Gray said. Did he finally move on, I doubt he can, but his bear friend Boris that he spent time together with for 2 years, has been helping a lot to make him forget the pain and the sorrow he suffered in a short moment. Santi returned with a basket full of cloudberries, he lifted the clothing that covers it to show to Gray. “Here you go! Only the fresh cloudberries for you, I’m afraid these are the only ones that didn’t get spilled. So you can be sure it’s clean!” Santi said. Gray voluntarily pulled the caravan back on its place upon seeing it still toppled at its side on the road. Carmelia stood aside with her son Silva while she waited for a chance to talk to Gray. “Thank you so much… but we still don’t know your name, oh worthy one,” Carmelia said. ‘Devil is the name, you fool,’ Silva thought. Gray snickered upon hearing his thoughts. “Make sure I’m the one you are calling a fool otherwise your head will roll,” Gray let out. “What no! I didn’t mean, I didn’t call you anything like that,” Carmelia said. “Don’t worry, Carmelia it’s not you,” Gray said. The boy Silva gazes down ashamed? frightened? Gray doesn’t really care, somehow he is just glad he could help her and pay some of his overflowing debts to her. “What do you mean by that? Who was it?” Carmelia said. She realizes her boy Silva was looking away, as she was about to confront him Gray called out to her. “Listen up! I’m not a king, nor a God, I’m just Galiet Gray. If you are looking for any signs of the king inside me, you're too early or too late. Anyway, I don’t really f*cking care, except... to you Carmelia, I’ll forever be in your debt,” Gray explained. “Galiet, I don’t understand,” Carmelia said. “You don’t need to right now anyway,” Gray said. Gray picked the basket as he ready his wings to go. “King Galiet! If you need us, we’ll be staying in duleinveil, my wife and I are quite known there. Please if you need us in any way, come and visit,” Santi yelled. “Alright,” Gray said as he soared through the sky. While Gray soured above the sky, he couldn’t sense anyone anymore in the caravan he passed by, as he gazed at the dead body of a possibly a wife and husband. “I’m not going to be the one that will bury you I’m afraid,” Gray uttered. He continued to glide in the air with a basket full of berries, upon closing in the cave. I’m sure this would be good enough, that was bad of me to leave abruptly. But I'm confident of the power of these berries. As soon as Gray touched the ground near the cave, the sickening fear quickly bolted into his heart. He recognized the smell, hell, he just recently faced one of them, But this is different as there is no amount of anything in the world combined that could make him forgive, no amount! As his blood boils inside, his hand gritting with his inch sharp nails wounding himself as it bleeds. Yes, blood. It was a god damn blood! And the sight of his hope for anything that is left good in this world! Galiet found the yearling cubs Lily and Hope dead near the cave with their bodies lanced mercilessly. “They be better f*cking ready!”
