Ash P.O.V:
“You’re leaving?” I was stood at the threshold, my heart racing within my chest in a panic as she stared back at me. She looked sombre, her head leaned against the edge of her door; her fingers wrapped around the handle.
“It would seem so.”
“When?”
“Two days' time.” She stepped aside so I could enter her apartment; the air was thick with sugared berries and honey.
“Has Raven explained why exactly? I thought she was meant to be your mentor.” With a single click, the door closed, and I twisted to face her, but her back was turned. Her shoulders hung low and her gaze fell onto the ground.
“She said, she thinks I have more gifts than she initially thought. She said I would benefit from more training and that her High Priestess should meet me.”
