Chapter Eleven – Education
“I don’t feel comfortable leaving her alone like this,” said Alan. He stood indecisively at the top of the cellar stairs.
Miko took his sleeve and steered him away. “She’s all right. Sophie is with her.”
“That’s what I’m afraid of. Sophie looked pretty angry.”
Miko went into the kitchen and opened the refrigerator. “She was just getting into character. We expected this. Every sub panics at some point in their training. It’s just a ploy anyway. I know a Sammy when I see one.” She reached into the refrigerator and began to rummage through it. “You got any beer in here?”
“No, I’m sorry.” Alan was confused by her indifference. “What did you call Keri?”
